Yes, you do indeed not know shit about it. The average American restaurant will produce a much better cooked piece of steak than the aveage UK restaurant. Note that I was referring to steaks, not cheesesteaks.

*I was never referring to the UK nor did I say anything about steaks. I never ate at a UK restaurant and the same goes for the US.*

Quite a hard thing to determine, as the average restaurant doesn't serve steak. Although I never said anything
about which country's restaurant serves the best steak, I think you might be right.
I just never heard someone defending the US restaurant's quality of cooking, but I don't have an opinion on it.

(I'm going by this definition of a restaurant: ''a commercial establishment where meals are prepared and served to customers'')

Well see, the average restaurant in the US will probably have steak on its menu in some form or other. Shit, some places even serve steaks for fucking breakfast.

american's generally have their steaks more well done than we do over, and we do them more than they do in france

it all depends how you like it done personally but i've never been to a restaurant here, a PROPER one and had a bad steak, its like the easiest thing to cook right

It's why I said "most". You have to go to a PROPER one to get a good steak. They aren't that common even in London (it has improved over the past 10 years). Even then, the meat is usually not as high in quality because we haven't got bloody miles and miles of ranches for cows to prance about in.

I have yet to meet an American who likes their steaks more cooked than the typical Brit. The default here seems to be "Nuke it. Then when it's killed, kill it some more". So not sure where you're getting that from. Maybe it's different up north.

There's an Argentinian steakhouse in Leeds, Riverplate it's called. Girlfriend took me there for my 24th, best steak I've ever had.

different types of cows eating different diets with different chefs cooking different cuts of meat

like going to france believing you're going to get the best frogs legs cos they've made it a signature dish when in reality you go to any top restaurant and you'll have an amazing dinner or any shit restaurant and it'll be shit

i do believe that Texas would house some incredible BBQ joints though
