Quality control has always been shit in hiphop - apart from maybe slum village, mad villain and a few others.

Absolute rubbish.

I understand his light-hearted/joke image and that he's fairly careless and what-not, but that still doesn't mean he isn't rubbish. It shouldn't be an excuse to put out rubbish music.

And there's quality control, then there's quality control with Lil B - which is totally no-existent, especially when you release hundreds of songs a year!

I'm not hating on him. I think he's rather unique and clever in a way, and has a genuine freedom to his life which many rappers/signed artists don't have - so fair play to him - but to defend his music as some kind of art form is madness

it's not a lack of quality control. releasing what most people would call "bad music" is a very intentional and deliberate move on his part
