how does one achieve it? does it require a ton of resampling? i found a decent tutorial on youtube; the sound was almost spot on, but it was for reason and i'm not that of a production guru that i could watch the tutorial and get the same results with my arsenal of plugins..

i'm practically clueless about DNB so bear with me, but i've noticed the use of these dark growly bass sounds commonly used in dungeon type of things(kryptic minds, lurka, the black box crew), and i've come to understand that it's called a neurofunk sound?

Here's a step by step cookie cutter neurofunk bass with massive, I've used it as a starting point for some experimenting.

And download all the NeoSignal podcasts you can, can't recommend them enough. I don't always like neuro to listen to when I'm out, but a good neuro mix on the headphones at work often gets me through the day. And if it's gotta be neuro, it's gotta be the most batshit crazy neuro I can get my hands on, which NeoSignal are. Quality beats, quality sounds, quality source of inspiration.

Thanks for giving me something to get me through the work day today.
Re: Neurofunk Basslines
definitly interesting to come from a neurofunk background, get into dubstep and wait and hope for more neuro vibes in dubstep then watch new people get into neurofunk through the dubstep influenced by it..... its all a big circle and really cool, its all just cool sounds.

Re: Neurofunk Basslines
please just experiment... almost all DnB bass sounds ever (and dubstep for that matter) can be achieved by messing with waveforms, filters, distortion, and modulation effects
Re: Neurofunk Basslines

Re: Neurofunk Basslines
I know there is a few sound design vids on that site that are utter shite. There isn't much out there in ways of showing you step by step how to make the neurofunk sound but the techniques discussed are more than enough for you to find the direction to go in.deadly habit wrote:what in gods name is that shit supposed to sound likeTriphosphate wrote:Here's a step by step cookie cutter neurofunk bass with massive, I've used it as a starting point for some experimenting.
