Just heard Vex'd - Degenerate for the first time...
Re: Just heard Vex'd - Degenerate for the first time...
All about the Bombardment for me. But yeah, Cloud Seed is magnificent in its own right, but Degenerate was a monster for sure. I adore Kuedo's current output, but not the early stuff, on "Severant" he finally got the balance right for me. Even though there is more than a wink at Vangelis. Roly's current work often gets overlooked too. I mean, if you hear his current ambient productions, I dare state that a lot of Vex'ds atmosphere was his creation.

Yeah I don't really get that twitter message, as far as his own (un)willingness to associate with the genre goes, I have nothing to say. But to say Loefah, Mala and Kode9 were beyond the genre is wrong. That doesn't make any sense. Perhaps they are now, but not back when Jamie was listening to them. So I ignore the statement all together, but yes indeed I've seen often how people like to dissociate from the audience that brought them somewhere to begin with, but oh no not now, there's some commercialism and mainstream-ness at the fringes, it is hands off now.
It happened to Mick J. Harris with Scorn, he was a prime example shitting on everyone in London, his own label Ad Noiseam, refused to accept that those were the people that liked his music. Then again, with him, he never gave a shit about audience, money,...so all credit to him on that regard, at least he was consistent.

Yeah, it sounds more like a desperate attempt to separate himself from what dubstep is seen as today than the honest truth. I mean, if Killing Floor and Bombardment of Saturn weren't made with the intention of being labelled dubstep then... no, that's not even possibleGenevieve wrote:Yeaaah and Toasty.. and Burial..Muncey wrote:From Kuedo twitter:
