Unorthodox Drum Samples
Anyone have ideas on what I would use to make unusual drum samples? Like homemade wood block sounds and such. My mic (Socom PS2 Headset) isn't the best in the world but it manages.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

Cutlery. Seriously.
Was listening to a track the other day, and though "damn those hits sound just like someone splashing some forks together." Sounded good man.

Can consider it, but hurting yourself shouldn't be a limiting factor.cjsnow1 wrote:I could always do this... --->Though I might hurt myself...

Your kitchen is full of good things to sample - pots & lids, silverware, lots of DIY shakers, plastic containers, appliances...
Re: Unorthodox Drum Samples
Just finished making this pack.

The Hit & Multi-Hit samples are a piece of paper striking the edge of my dresser-top and a Co2 Cartridge dropping on my keyboard. The change sounds were made using a honey bear container with my loose change. The knock is the same Co2 Cartridge hitting the same dresser-top.

Re: Unorthodox Drum Samples
grab a keyholder with about 5 keys on it.
Hold it in 2 fingers and than abruptly close your hand while moving your arm down.
This yields some nice hats/atmospheric effects.

Not in the same league as all the cutlery banging but in a recent tune i sampled a swordfight off game of thrones, made a pretty good snare.
