Sleep Paralysis(Ever get it?)

Post by Theo Void » Wed Apr 25, 2012 5:50 pm

This crazy shit has been happening to me since I was a young cricket. Shit is terrifying. It happened the other night and it was particularly scary. Everytime it happens right before I get "stuck" there's always a rising noise getting closer and closer and louder. Last night it was something crawling in the walls, then coming down the wall behind my head until it was right behind my pillow, then STUCK! There's also always the super creepy presence and feeling of someone on my chest slowly strangling me. I try to call out to my gf or grab her hand but I can't!
Shit is so scary but I've been thinking about trying to induce it on purpose and use it as an out of body experience or something. Might be fun or inspiring.

Had it a couple times

Worst time I felt like I was being violently strangled by something sitting on my chest

I know the medical cause of it and all that but I can't help getting freaked out when it happens and feeling as if there are demons lurking in my room. I usually don't sleep after it happens. Too creepy. I feel like a big puss but I can't help it. It's cool cuz I'll get some music done whilst staying up all night. Or just lurk on forums.

used to get it all the time, saw little kids darting from my door and an old witch women. Get the ringing and a weird shooting sensastion all over my body. Scary as fuck when its happening but it can be pretty fun the few seconds after when you realise theres no demon kids or witches after you

Yeah it happens to me sometimes, this morning in fact. Crazy shit, pretty scary once you realise your just in SP and lying there, waiting to wake up.

I used to do it on purpose for lucid dreaming.

Of course hearing little kids and witches crawling through your bedroom wall is normal.

I was talking about when they strangle you.

It's really, really hard. When i learned those years ago, i used the site called dreamviews.com and bought/downloaded some books by Stephen LaBerge. Trust me when i say its really, really hard. I stopped doing it for a while and i need to get back into the routine in order to do it. Good Luck, also.

what if you get so good at lucid dreaming that you start thinking you are lucid dreaming when you are really awake?

Few months ago I had sleep paralysis almost every morning for 1.5 months straight. In the beginning it was frightening but it was cool to study it after the first 2 weeks.

Had this a couple times when i was a younger, and then nothing till around october when it started happening most nights for a bit. Freaked me out a bit the first few times seeing mad shaped shadows flying around my walls and not being able to move, not happened for a while now though. I can lucid dream pretty often and it's quite intense sometimes. I used to wake up as soon as I realised I was dreaming but can control it pretty well now. Couple of weeks ago I had a dream where I was chatting to my friend who was in it and I was telling them that they were in my dream and it wasn't real. A few months ago I realised I was dreaming cause some pretty crazy stuff was happening, then got convinced by friends that it was real, and i'd just had a bad trip... I then woke up to find it was actually a dream, was fucking mad!

^ Lucid dreaming is like the best thing ever. Like you said, if you manage to stay with it and fight through the paralysis , and then confirm that you are dreaming, the experience is almost life-like. Except you are aware that you're dreaming and can bend reality.

I guess the paralysis i described earlier is different, you guys actually have you eyes open and can see stuff, when it happens to me/ i do it, my eyes are closed and i know that im stuck in the dream, usually receiving physical trauma, drifting in and out of consciousness. Also, i'm always lying in bed both in the dream and real life, so its hard to differentiate when dipping in and out.

Can we start a dream thread and not make it some gay thing?
