FUTURE GARAGE CRAZY SYNTH SOUND FILTERS.

i been trying too get a lot of synth soundsl. i hear them alot in future garage nowerdays.. its NOTTTTT the typical square/sawtooh chords im talking about. its like crazy ass filters on bass. atleast i think it is. my friend one time said its just a filter in logic not sure if he was correct though but it makes some crazyyyyyyy assss sounds... can i show you what i mean so you can tell me exactly what it is im going on about. coming from reason im new too alot of diffrent fx and things.

Sounds like just a standard bass kick. With some resonance for a few bars about a minute in.

ok well it's pretty much just a Square wave, low-passed with some resonance and, like you said, a flanger.

Give the amplitude a short attack, quick decay with no sustain. Same with the filter envelope.

After that its just a case of varying the filter cut-off throughout the track.

so all it is is stickin a flanger over a normal bass then?? in the greed tune its not a bass its like a wobbly suttenz. at 58 seconds... i like the textures of it ....it reminds me of that megladon no requests kinda style.. and coki kinda style.. its all got the same sort of feeling and i dont know what it is.. so all them tunes ive mentions are just flangers?

lemme open up the session and tell u what it is...

the first subdued bass that kicks in at around 1:00 is a slightly tweaked version of the preset Coneblower (massive threat native instruments) and here is a screen shot of the synth i created from scratch for the alternate bassline that comes in

Make sure you split the frequencies on this to. If you just slap a flanger on your bass you're going to kill the low end completely and you'll lose most of the sub as the flanger moves the sound. Or I guess you could just highpass the original and just slap a sub bass underneath it. However you want to do it I guess, just as long as you maintain the sub bass. There's nothing worse than listening to a song in a genre known for it's bass and then having a really weak sub.
