Loops won't get any smaller in Ableton
I can't find that basic production thread.
I'm trying to sample a single drum in Ableton, so a pretty small loop need to be made, but I drag the loop small and then it stops letting me make it any smaller. why is this? Google hadn't turned up anything.

it limits the loop size. select the area in which your drum is contained and press control-e to separate it

And while we're answering simple ableton questions.
When i play a set of notes, they don't record the way i want them, they snap to 1, 1.1.3, 1.2 and create something completely off, how do i turn this off?

cntrl + shift + U opens the note quantization menu

That didn;t fix it, like if I'm in drum rack, and want to actually play the drum beat, the drums snap to 1, 1.1.3, 1.2, nothing in the quant menu fixes this.

Go Edit > Record Quantization. Is no quantization checked? That'd be the only thing I could think of
