Heavy Guitar Riff Wobbles

Post by FrostByte » Sat Apr 28, 2012 4:30 pm

I've been attempting to create those deep, heavy, guitar riff sounding wobbles that artist like Getter, Bratkilla and KLRGRM make flawlessly. I am at a loss... I know these guys are using subtractive synthesis, but how are they able to create these incredible noises? If any of you have any tips or tutorials, please share! FYI I'm not using Reason, no dedicated VSTS please ;-).

I've been able to make some heavy guitarish basses by just running some simple saws and stuff through the chain I usually run my guitars through.

you say you're not using Reason, so what DAW are you using. If it's FL Studio I'm made some nice talking bass and growls in Sytrus. not a bad FM subtractive for all the smack it gets. The 2nd song in my signature uses a bass I made in Sytrus. If you not using FL Studio then someone else has gotta help ya haha :corndance:

Heh, not for everyone I guess, what did you listen to out of interest?

Also I believe he released a reason project file on his FB for 10k likes recently. I didnt bother as I dont have reason but I'm sure you could learn from it if Reason has a demo?

just listened to some bratkilla...ffs...his style is intensely aggressive and overdistorted...reminds me of excisions newer stuff...

lol @ dynamics...either way, still novel in respect to what's topping the beatport charts..

see when i think heavy distorted like guitar bass what comes to mind for me is

i mean i love loud music from metal, to breakcore to just plain noise
i just can't seem to get into stuff like bratkilla (at least from what youtube brought up for me) it seems like it's just being overly aggressive and loud for a kind of novelty sake

is what always comes to mind when i hear a good chunk of stuff like that heh
