Keep locked and merge all the shite into it is the best option.

i am surprised that you can't decipher the message in the subtly hidden symbols

earth: shows that no matter what, we are all light years above everyone else and so we might disagree but we are all cosmonauts. even those of us who are wrong. cosmonauts

fist: represents the mods here. they are tough and oppressive, but look carefully! there is a smile on that thumbnail, so come on! they are just like the rest of us and know how to have a good time

shady characters on the edges: these are the weird people who are ruining things for everyone else. they are not cosmonauts. notice how they are afraid to come away from the edges with all that baggage? they know they are not welcome and leaving back for earth soon.

spaceship with the explosion: even in space, there is danger of fights breaking out. watch out cosmonauts! you might say something inappropriate and someone will disagree. guess what, you just blew his ass up in space. get out of there and watch out for the shady dudes on the side. safe.

lasers: those are not symbolic of anything, i just liked how they look

euro currency sign: it represents that we can talk about money without too much trouble and also there are people here from almost everywhere in the world. so even up in space there is diversity. maybe the shady guys on the side want to take that euro? that is my secret for now.

chris hanson dancing on a tamborine ship: this is the most important part. we all need to be mindful of predators here. and we need to make sure that justice is swift. but that doesnt mean that we can't dance around and get a little bit silly! that is why chris is doing it right. he isnt really a cosmonaut in real life, but he does catch sex pests so it makes sense.

and finally, the voting card: we each have a duty to cast our vote. we may disagree about the brothers dubstep, but at least we should have a place to vote about whether we should have a place to talk about it. right?

anyways, that is what the picture meant. i thought the message was obvious

you couldn't be further from the fucking point if you tried, but go ahead and think what you want superman. DSF has never been the gatekeeper of anything. we're an internet forum. its all in your head if you think otherwise.

i honestly think the best idea is to lock & sticky

that way i get to be amused by all these dumb threads
but i don't have to go looking for it

it can be like a warning sign for anyone wanting to post stupid shit as well

I think the best idea is to lock it for everyone else but baseband so he can do a running commentary on the threads through his wonderful collages.

If 170+ pages of a thread are basically 4chan & mediocre trolling, what will another new 100-200 page thread accomplish thats going to be different? Its already very clear that a substantial majority of the forum membership have a very strong critical and negative view of not only the music associated with the tag ' brostep ' but some of the key players associated with that sound. This is not something that we're doing to ' gatekeep ' or ' protect the sound ' ( totally stupid comments regardless). This is just the reality of the viewpoint of a great many here on this site. Read the first 50 pages of that locked thread and you can't deny it.

That said, theres a growing number of people that love the ' brostep ' sound, and want to discuss it too. Fairplay to them. The point to be made by the closure, was that the thread was barely a discussion of anything concrete any longer. One look at the youngsta thread shows you that after 500 pages theres still discussion, and this is why we tried to see if the brostep thread might head in the same direction. It didn't in the end.

Does that mean that people can't discuss it? Of course not.
Does it mean that we're going to moderate new ' brostep ' threads differently. Don't know yet, and time will tell. Count on it that long runs of pages full of photoshops & 4chan will get moderated. They don't encourage discussion, just trolling and stupidity.
