and the main bass in this, first one on the drop
how the faaaaak? Megalodon is just getting ridiculously good recently...can't even begin to comprehend how he made these sounds, would love to know how to get the dynamics he has to his sounds, presumably he uses a lot of selective reverb, but can never get my verb that thick :L

Anyone have any ideas on how to create Datsiks sort of 'space bass'?, the super smooth lazer-y sound

@ 0:28, 0:30, 0:32.

This is probably the earliest he started using it in the most basic form, so I don't know if this would be easiest to figure out.

Knife Party actually started using this sound...

Any help would be much appreciated!! I'm still pretty new to massive and other synths, I just can't see how you could create such a smooth wobble.

chrome oscillator
wavetable postion to the right
daft filter , automate cutoff with saw wave lfo
and a little bit of delay like 5-20ms and feedback pretty high, that makes the wonky, metallic sound

start off with that

The sub part of that is a sine, pretty sure.

The way I'd do it:
Get an init patch, start fucking about with a comb filter on filter one then put that in series to a bandpass or a bandreject with some resonance (whatever sounds better to you)
Put some classic tube and some small reverb on it
Put it to 2-4 unison and move the pan position to halfway between full and mono.
Then start fucking about with your oscilators, really its a matter of experimentation from this point but I'd start by using a saw a sine and then maybe a carbon and muck around with their wave types and WT positions.
Put a little feedback on, don't over do it. Add some sine shaper if needed, and also try giving it a little bit of pitch cutoff to see if that makes it sound any better. Little bit of high metallic noise, and EQ the highs up a lot and boost frequency where needed, usually around 400-700hz in this type of sound.
Oh almost forgot, when it comes to the modulation, use only envelopes. Use them on the cuttoff of the bandpass, possibly the resonance and bandwidth, and then also the WT positions and intensities of your oscilators.

Sorry to write an essay, but this should get you in the right sorta ballpark. I haven't given you many specifics because its up to you to shape the sound into what you want at the end of the day.

I'm just generally amazed by the sounds in this track. If anyone could tell me how to make the first sound after the drop, I'd be thankful :)

I suck at producing as of now, but my dj'ing is quite good. Mixcloud.com/dreadnastyhtx

Dubnasty are you talking about the mid range growl moving in and out or the low end sub bass growl ?.. for the low end , it could just be a basic vibrato with a low cutoff filter , (lowpass 2 massive) and probably a saw or sine wave.. Most likely saw down 2 octaves , just play around with those settings till you hear something you like.. Its all about trail and error to get some insanely unthinkable sounds you wouldn't imagine .. now as for me I want to see who will MAN UP and try to figure out this MASSIVE sound from coki .. of course I mean the WOBBLE
man why do I even bother... Because I love it .. music life, music passion, music soul.

Philthy_phil, LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS of modulation.

KTN uses some hardcore stuff, he uses Reason but he told Porter over Twitter that most of the Basses in his Kill Kill KIll ep were made in Massive (Ableton, through ReWire)

So, its a reese, and I'm pretty sure of it. The characteristics of the sound (the growl) come from the distortion and effects though.

Anyways, I would like to reference back to the xKore growl, As it intrigues me so much...

At 0:55
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncziXOaAXgg

And at 0:34 (Released today)
Soundcloud

I know he uses FL Studio because he posts on New Grounds forums in their audio section frequently, and he has stated that he uses mostly native plugin's (for synth's) he uses a lot of non-native effects as well as native effects but most of his synth work is native fruity stuff (Sytrus, Harmor, 3xOsc, Harmless etc...) So any help would be appreciated. I believe HypeFiend made quite the similar sounding bass with Massive but I haven't been able to contact him so any body else with insight will be a cool cat in my book.

Thanks in advance.

I can show you how to make xKore's base sound but not those specific ones. He just changes up the performer and lfo's for different sounding movements.
Base sound is Massive but I noticed his favorite effect that gets that sound really fat is the Sound Goodizer which is in Fruity Loops. I used Sausage Fattener. Could also throw a vocoder on it to get it more slimey sounding rather than static.

Camelcrusher preset British Clean. Mess around with the performers, which performer affects the amp and the attack settings on Envelope 1.
The Modulation OSC tab in Massive goes like this: Phase 1: fully turned | Position 3: fully turned | Filter FM 1: 10 o'clock
The Filter FM can really affect the sound too.

How the fuck do you get drums like this in Ableton / FL?

@Perej ... just find samples of tom drums and put a bunch of effects through em'.. reverb , delay, compressor, then sound goodizer, eq it , run some more effects.. honestly there's no vst that can get drums sounds that close, I say you'd be better off walking around with a recorder and taping drums n ish for samples like he probably did...

Wow these are some really good starting patches for some great sounds. Gonna get tons of use out of these, you make them yourself?
