Listen to a new style of music and try to draw some inspiration from it

don't sweat it man, it comes and goes. take a break from writing tunes for a while and come back to it, you'll be better than you were before.

just took a break and did some DJing, tried to sort out how to DJ using vinyl (the fact that there's no cue point makes it ten billion times tougher...)

now I'm going to take a crack at it again, if that still doesn't work maybe I'll take a week off or something

thanks for the advice tho :w:

@wobbles - hmm I'll try anything

been listening to a lot of dub lately, I got a 1970s dub sampler vinyl that I found at a record store....maybe a sampling session could help! :)

yeah I know it's not to be "expected," it's just that coming from CDJs where I heavily relied on the cue button to have a starting point for beatmatching, it's a bit tough to adjust is all.

yeah i get you, but still, about 10 years ago such a thing didn't even exist

yeah that whole vinyl beatmatch thing is a bitch and a half
yeah it is, but it's so much cooler... youre not just pressing play at the right time, youre physically making two plastic discs on metal plates spin in perfect unison

well I only have one turntable and some CDJs so I'm making one plastic disc spin in time with a beat that's being played out of a machine :lol:

Sick of seeing articles in the papers about how the government have ideas to tax fatty foods to solve the obesity crisis, i actually struggle to put on weight and consider myself underweight being 6ft and only weighing 9st 11 so how is that gunna help me, its not like im on a diet or eat tiny amounts. The government of all people should know that you cant help greed but i guess thats why they would tax it anyway, the usual business of not helping but taking everyones money for it. I get paid just the right amount to pay rent, pay for transport and for a normal amount of food but if theyre gunna up the prices of fatty products then effectively means theyd be forcing me of all people to go on a diet. What a load of bullshit.
