This monstrosity needs to be able to be built within DayZ

Anyone else really struggling to get into any servers at the moment? There almost all at max capacity, and even so, any of the ones with more than 10-20 people you seem to get stuck at the waiting for server to respond screen forever. Managed to get into one server so far, then tried to respawn, had to rejoin the server and got stuck again lol

Think its just the sheer weight of people playing on a saturday afternoon! The bastards! Ive been working all day every day since i got it lol Managed to play like 10 mins last night, but was rolling on so little sleep anyway and just had to call it a night...

Come on servers, lets see some magic!

They should be adding more servers as time goes. I read they added like 10 new ones in 1 week recently.

Reverb: On needing a high end computer: yeah mostly because of the insane draw/view distance. I'd say one from the last 3 years should be able to run it fine, with a possible upgrade of the video card depending on what it came with. One from 5 years ago would need possibly a new CPU and video card. Depending on the computer though, decent upgrades might not be available. Anyway it's not that expensive to build a new one, you can reuse hard drives and other stuff. Would just need a cheapo case , a motherboard, CPU, video card, RAM, and possibly a power supply. Don't need a case or power if you don't plan on keeping the old pc.

you definitely need a retail arrowhead
i have heard you can use ArmA II free though
I was lazy and just bought combined ops. and yea from there its just unpacking some files into a folder.

I hope there are more UK servers coming, can be a pain to get on one of those during the day.

Total noob question but,
I have both
Arma 2 and operation arrowhead on steam, it says on the day z installation wiki to make a folder in my arrowhead directory but I can't find the bloody directory anywhere.
It isn't in %appdata% or the steam folder on c:/programfiles

anyone know what's going on?

Yeah, got it. Found it in steamapps/common...
Now i'm having trouble when connecting to servers, it starts alright but then that loading bar thing comes up and gets stuck at about 80%. Looks like i'm destined not to play :(

make sure you have the latest version of dayz, new ones get released all the time.
also, leave it a bit and then come back. videos on youtube that I have watched say that the first startup can take over an hour
