edit: sorry, here are my reviews :)

@rayman612: Love the pulsing sub in the intro and the vocal glitches ^_^

@npcompl33t: I like the melody in the beginning. The bassline reminds me of my friend terrabad's remix of tie fighter from cyberoptics

@Anteara: I've always loved the original. Good work on capturing the original melody in a more filthy way :)

/endedit

Did this on Sunday. I've been actively producing for about a month. I've been reading a lot and finally got a chance to sit down and put the reading to use and this is what I came up with.

This is 4 hours of time spent. Would love some feedback and notes on if I'm headed in the right direction of music production. It's @ 90bpm so it's like a hiphop tune with dubstep sounds.

Any constructive feedback is welcome :)

Guys, you must give 3 people feedback on their tracks before you can ask for it on yours. Otherwise nobody would get any feedback.

Just recently dug this project file up from the dark depths of hell and am in need of some direction/general feedback, I think it's pretty sweet and I'm still proud of the synths:

I can't right this minute but I'll be leaving detailed feedback on soundclouds in the next half hour or so, I'll edit this post to tell you guys who I hit when I hit you.

@ Living_Tragedy: vocals have been nicely processed! drums sound punchy, not quite sure about the kind of sound you've chosen its more of a pop than deeper smack, maybe layer another one underneath. like the big epic synth you've got going on in the intro. Nice progressions however I'd recommend cutting the intro down a bit before the drop. Your Percussion isnt there or cant be heard when the drop comes in? Can really help to give the track a boost at the top end and give it some more groove. :W: When second drop comes in maybe change it up a bit? 2step style with the drums maybe? add some variation to bass line in that part as well. just ideas :) hope that helps.

@ pawesome: got an evil progression going on here in the intro! my kind of thing ;) like the percussion patterns as well. nice shuffle going. drums seem to be well done. they come through fine. When it drops i think the bass needs beefing up and after a while the pattern becomes style maybe modulating them and adding something new might help to keep things interesting :4:

@ LordDrape: This tune is just badass wonky haha love it. the vocal samples you've added in sound sweet! Liking the arp sound once the drop progresses. That main bass sounds evil. good use of incidentals as well. i hear a sonar sound? one of my signature noises ;) I'd probably work on beefing up those basses. maybe duplicate re-process them, then add stereo width. :D

@ alpz: Very deep! woah nice sub. sweet use of the reverb here. makes it feel so spacious. Evil brooding mood going. not 100% my style but maybe switching up the percussion patterns might help give the song more groove in different places?

@ Creepfinger: I can tell you've got some good ideas in your tune but some of them are getting lost with some of the sounds clashing. especially when it drops clean up the distorted parts with EQ when it hits and I can imagine this song coming out a banger! Good melody progressions. ;-)

New WIP unsure about my choice of samples atm but its all i had that sounded evil haha. WIP song title as well ;) Trying to work on an EP, hopefully this tune will make it on there!

(My first review here, hopefully I'm doing this right)

@ filtersnake - Vey well produced. No worries about this one getting stale... tons of great dirty sounds. I know you have reservatuions about the samples, but I can't really make out what's being said, so no need to worry :) I think the snare could be louder or snappier... more high end.

@Living Tragedy - I dig this... simple but with a groove. Really like the incorporation of the lyrics. I think the main synth is too loud - it seems to overpower the drums & I think I hear that there are vocals during the but it's not easy to tell. Are there any Hi-Hats going? It's cool without them, but if there are hats then I can't hear them. Clocking in at 6:28 it seems to get a bit repetitive and could use some additional variety.

@Kes-Es - Well, this is some experimental stuff. Interesting. Not exactly my thing, but I can appreciate it. I thikn it's well done. It maintains my interest. Smooth sub, fits in the right place.

I'm a noob of sorts, I used to produce techno in the 90's so the soft-syth world is new to me. So I'm looking for feedback on Production, sounds, arrangement, anything!

@pawesome great track, not much happening in the drop though; your rhythms are pretty damn consistent, and they sound good but it kind of gets boring. As a general rule, I try not to repeat things more than 2 times. Keeps the track moving. That would make an awesome hip hop beat but if you're just planning to have it as a track I'd put some more stuff into the bassline.

@Kes-es awesome synthesis, not sure what kind of track you're going through but it lags at the beginning a bit. I'd take the sounds you're working with and restructure it, has the potential to be really dope but IMO it could use some more elements. I like your melody and drop.

@Living Tragedy really sick! one thing I notice is the vocals don't pop at parts... Maybe its my headphones but I don't think so, they kind of get lost in the rest of the sound. First drop is awesome, so is the second one, but the second half of the second drop would be killer with more rhythm and maybe another sound or something, feels like it repeats a lot. Really like this, keep working on it and you'll have a really sick track.

Made this in january... I'm doing a lot of work with samples now, if anyone wants to hear something different (definitely not dubstep lol) or offer me some tips on sampling/processing/whatever it would be greatly appreciated:

@chesirebeats really like the vibe i dont like the clipping at the end of the loop sometimes it works but i guess you should try to avoid it when its to loud hm i like it haha just the clipping and maybe a acapella for the fun of it

@ihartbeats very hard mix which i guess is ok for the kind of vibe hm flows nice i miss something at the second drop its overall to repetitive maybe go for different groove in the second drop but nice tune

@filtersnake the mix is to full maybe take some sounds down a bit to make more room for the snare or add another layer of a higher snare sound i wouldnt go for the beat in the intro maybe just high hats the build up to the drop is nice but it would hit harder without the beat starting earlier

my wip atm i made a youtube one cause i starting to hate soundcloud haha

@Budspencerton - Loving the dark, heavy / slow feel of it. Not entirely sure what else to say what else to say about it, seems to work really nicely.

@Cheshirebeats - Good vibe to it, but I agree with the comment about clipping. Also perhaps make the kick / snare a TINY bit more punchy.

@filtersnake - Sounds good, I would make the kick / snare more punchy / not low passed during the drop. I would also give the synths in the drop much more high end, sounds like you've high cut everything there. Otherwise sounding good.

@Pawesome - Good intro vibe, except the clap needs to be brought up with a bit more high end IMO. And I think the kick should either be more punchy or lowpassed further. Certainly should have more high end in the drop. Nice use of samples, I would also bring up the levels of the synth that occurs after the first one in the drop, seems a bit quiet. Otherwise sounding good.

My current WIP, slightly different to my usual style, feedback muchly appreciated!

@virusTI not sure about the beginning of the track, almost has a weird 80's instructional video theme music vibe to me. middle's cool except for the squelchy mids but that's just personal preference.

@budspencertron i like the vibe you have going here, sounds very well mixed. starts getting a little bit repetitive though, a problem i have with my tracks as well x_x

@filtersnake sounds good, is that the droid cell phone voice? haha

my current WIP is my signature, just updated it a few minutes ago. c&c appreciated :) going to add some more instruments next or maybe just some more background type stuff to mix it up.

@aplz - untitled - wip wow.. love this minimal dark vibe your going for. Keep at it! IMO a few suggestions that might make it better: more shuffling drum patterns.. maybe ones coming in and dropping out sporadically.

@lord-drape-alligator - great vibe on this one too. I think that bass distortion could be worked on more though, make it more gritty and dark/machine sounding. Good job. Your drums could use more variation.. maybe have random bars with an extra shuffle or just a single kick.. experiment with it.

@evil bitches rastafied - u got some quite sick sounds in there dude. how did u do that scream sound @ 1.23 ? Good job on the tune, but I do think you could make it a lot more developed.

Heres two of mine im developing now. Please give em a listen :)

living tragedy: eq or sidechain your kick more, the bass is drowning it out a little bit, i think changing the pan from left to right on the high synth throughout the song would be dope, overall good stuff though
filtersnake:big tune, id say change the notes or octave on the first bar or two of the drop, sounds a bit muddy, other than that, massive tune
BudSpencerstron:keep the bassline goin throughout the song, sounds like youre trying to go for the old school sound, just write a bassline that doesnt cut out, the kick sequence sounds a bit funny too, pretty ill tune though

Heres my current WIP i just threw together real quick, still a very very rough WIP, havent eqed or even really put any filters on anything, just building the basics first, figured i try a bit of timestretching, i know the blending between the different BPM needs work but im saving that for the morning

@virusTI Snare feels a little out of place compared to everything else and i wasnt convinced by the second drop. Loved the dropout with the laugh though.

@BassDNB feels like there is a whole in the midrange after the drop. Really like the weight on the bass and fits really well with the drums.

@difference really enjoyed the swing and relationship between the bass and drums. Maybe sidechain a bit more to get the kick the punch through. Maybe something to take the edge off the top. For me its a tiny bit sharp and painful at times.

Below is a new WIP. Its 140 but i wouldn't class it strictly as dubstep. Any feedback would be nice!

@ chemikalrecipe:

Great mix. Not my style of music, but I can appreciate the good production. Emphasize the 2:21 drop more and this will bang.

@ RvCKvs:

A lot of stuff going on in this track. Some of the sounds don't mesh well, so I'm losing the vibe of the song. 3:23-on is a cool part.

@ BassDNB:

Definitely something I can get down to. Drums are good, maybe change the snare(s). Bass sounds gritty and heavy. Good stuff.

Here's a new, darker/heavier track I'm working on...I will have changes, this is just a verse.
