Nope, dubcamp will be fine! (Apart from the log cabin bar or whatever it is :P )

Well, I assume it will be fine, no idea how it could NOT be fine

Yeah, but that's no fun. Say you're in a packed club and you want to blaze. It'll take you five minutes to get out of the crowd (provided it's a sufficiently large club - I'm mostly thinkin' of Mass since DMZ is coming up), five minutes to get out of the club, ten minutes for a not rushed but not too lengthy smoke and then another ten to get back to where you started. By the time you're done you've missed half an hour of someone's set.

this is my main concern for DMZ, i go in get a beer, have two swigs and want a ciggy (can i take my beer outside????) so i go down ALL the stairs get outside roll a cig spark it, finish it, go inside hav a 10-15 mins boogie, hmm fancy a spliff, go outside blaze up, get hassled by junkies, go for a walk to avoid cops and junkies, end up 5-10 mins from venue, finish spliff, go back in, get beer, 2 swigs of beer, hmmm want a ciggy, (can i take my beer outside???) so i go outside roll my cig, etc etc etc
eventually i will be outside having a spliff and will think fuck this im off home

guess it is a bit different when talkin about tokin in the clubs over there...you guys mask it by rolling half tobacco up with your ganj, and gauging from the show i was just at over in brixton, the green is standard inside the venues...but here stateside, youd get booted reaaaaaal fast trying to pull that stuff (plus we smoke our shit strait up, so it smells alot more)
for us its always been about planning and taking a walk...its a nice way to avoid half of a djs set whos boring or just not really putting it down heavy that nite, so weve never really been too heavy into smoking up venues here(atleast the ones i go to in nyc)....cig wise though, that shit stinks and belongs outside since half of the venue prolly doesnt smoke them anyhow

just keep the smoke outside as a courtesy to your fellow heads, might take a bit to get used too...but you'll realize not everyone wants to smell what you are smoking when they hit a club, i know i get headaches from cig smoke if its too thick around me...you guys will like it though, you dont have to immediately put your club clothes in plastic bags to keep them from stinking up your place anymore with the smoking ban

My clothes are going to be stinkin' of about 8 hours of skankin in my own juices anyway, smoke smell is the least of my worries for the bus journey home!!

And yeah, what people saying about missing sets is pretty much the problem, I mean, between a group of ya its probably not uncommon for a good 10-20 joints to go round at a dmz i think its fair to say, yet I cant think of a SINGLE minute of the dmz 2nd bday I would have happily stepped outside for one.

People are going to have to start being creative, big up everyone out there whos working on the pocket vaporiser!

...

God I hope someones working on the pocket vaporiser.

Maybe we should all just get cooking before hand. A couple of well built brownies could do the trick.

This may be of use to ye.

I think in regards to nicotine addiction patches should help somewhat.

Right, I think I've come up with a solution here that will keep both sides happy.

The smoking ban will remain in place, but a few times every year (like seasonal) clubs and bars will purchase a one night only smoking licence. Bar staff arent going to want work in the smoke but anyone can cope with just one night of it, and you could pay them double wages to sweeten it for them.

As these one off events are so rare they will be very popular, so maybe they're better suited for bigger clubs. But then as it's advertised as a smoking night maybe the non smokers will stay at home and places wont be too crowded.

This way people will still be able to smoke in a club, though it will be a rare occasion.

However this will probably never happen as:
A) Legally it would be awkward for the government to have this policy
B) Blow is still illegal, so the polis might want to raid places that they suspect will have a lot of spliffs.

But this would be cheeky seeming as FWD stank of skunk every week when cigarettes were legal, it's hypocritical to crack down on the place when it's only 4 times a year.

Mm. I have a better idea, still! - Don't ban smoking in true 'clubs'. I haven't met a single 'true clubber' (smoker or non) who agrees with the ban covering 'clubs'.
Everyone accepts that a 'club' is a place for everyone to go and be relatively free to do what they want in their hunt for fun.

Surely, for those kinds of environments, people will only apply for work if they don't have a problem with the conditions. Isn't that just common sense and the beauty of 'choice'??

If we all have to settle for downing a Space Cake before we bowl out to a venue, the nights are gonna have proppa slow start to them! HAHA!
