True that. The first gig i played had a terrible soundguy. Like, we'd tell him we couldn't hear x in our monitors and he'd just give us a thumbs up, haha.
Yeah the thumbs up usually means he didn't touch the sound.
When I used to play in a band one of our last shows had a soundguy who thought it would be a good idea to use the line out on the amps (our guitarists had crappy Spider Line 6 amps) which is stupid since no sound will come out of the amp and we can't use it as a monitor.
Couldn't hear any guitar at all on stage. Even people in the crowd kept telling us to tell the soundguy to turn up the guitar. He just kept giving us the thumbs up. The whole damn show. All you could hear was the drums and our drunk bassist playing the songs wrong.
Hell it was a small room anyway did we need him? We could have just turned up all the amps all the way and it would have sounded better than what he did.

Fractal!! You're... American?!
My whole world perspective has just changed.
Your world perspective can be changed off learning something about one person???
What a horrible world it would be if a discovery about or from a single person couldn't change your world (I was also exaggerating for comedic effect).
I make music as Forsaken, you can DL all my unreleased (and a couple released) bits here.

Yup! He's going to school in Seattle....Pacific Northwesterners represent!
How is it up there man? I'm about to move up to vancouver, BC from houston texas. Do people say pop, and does it rain everyday? Haha.
Nice man I think fractal's actually originally from Texas. Anyways, it's really nice over here - the people in the pacific northwest are honestly the kindest and most genuinely NICE people that I've ever met, and I think the bass music scene out here is pretty great too, we're having the decibel festival soon and the lineup is looking big!
When are you moving?
Probably sometime in December or January. Me and my hetero life partner are going to college there, at PAVI.
And that's really good to hear, especially because everyone here seems to be selfish as fuck.

whats bullcrap?
turn up the mids on the mixer
i really wonder how many of you experts have actually played out on a big rig.
of course you can affect the sound to a certain degree by equalizing. but sound engineering (especially in big rooms) is much more than lows, mids and hights...

To make sure the sound is at the correct levels, sounds good, don't blow the speakers and everything is set up.
