A bit late on this but reach south brother w/ a 30 min flight. Houston, TX to be exact @ http://www.gritsy.commockey52 wrote:Easy people,
I've just moved from the UK to Lubbock, Texas.
I've realised very quickly that there is not a lot (well nothing) going on anywhere near me in terms of intelligent bass music.
The only night I have seen advertised in my town for example is Excision![]()
I'm calling for help from people from Texas and the surrounding states for nights that don't put on screechy wobble.
I am prepared to travel a fairly long way. I just need some leads.
Peace
Soon come on Saturday, May 12th:

Upcoming:
Saturday, June 9th w/ Goth Trad & Truth
Saturday, July 14th Gritsy 6 Year w/ Digital Mystikz & ???
Need anything more, please feel free to pm!

when you are at school, you cant afford to buy many records but have a radio station to broadcast from. when you finish school, you can buy lots of records and there is no radio station for you to join. a bit unfortunate

yeah man, you're a bit landlocked in Lubbock and west Texas period.
When you can, def hit up the cities, Dallas, is closest to you I think. Houston and Austin have shows on the weekly.
Hang tough up there and if you're ever in San Antonio, Holla.

Re: A Brit in desperate need in the US
Gritsy line ups are huge in the next couple of months. Gonna try and make it down for Mala and Coki in July hopefully.subearache wrote:Big up Gritsy. Awesome line up y`all got this summer!
I'm going to Austin in the first weekend of June (think it's 2nd and 3rd) so if anyone knows anything going on let me know!!

Buy some decks, buy some vinyl, start your own night.

Dude, Id hang out with Sonika any day, I dont know a single kid my age thats into the sound.Killamike49 wrote:Dude, if you are for real 12 and hanging out with high school kids and you aren't into drugs, you must one fucking cool kid. Haha. I know plenty of people who wouldn't be caught dead hanging out with a 12 year old, unless he was fucking hoss. Not my opinion, of course, but still. Haha.
And houston is pretty bad about our filth meter. It's heavy out here almost all the time. But, when rolling, i love it, so it's whatever.

Re: A Brit in desperate need in the US
Club scene is really lame in Texas most people just go out to wear button up long sleeve shirts [with the sleeves rolled up], buy sluts drinks to get laid, and request the same top 40 songs over and over again...

Re: A Brit in desperate need in the US
The thing I love about Austin is that if you don't like the music they're playing at whatever spot you're at, you just pick up and go next door to the next bar/club until you find something ya like.parson wrote:this is not the case in austin.dj2slo wrote:Club scene is really lame in Texas most people just go out to wear button up long sleeve shirts [with the sleeves rolled up], buy sluts drinks to get laid, and request the same top 40 songs over and over again...
