Yeah big up Jesus for dying for our sins and netting us a public holiday in the process.

It's not necessarily criticism of quality, I mean just one look at the track list gets me excited as hell for it. I think it's more that people have come to expect to Allstars series to be a snapshot of a particular part of the scene at a particular time, whereas this one looks more like a snapshot of yours and Quest's current output. Not that that makes it any less huge, I mean the tracks I've heard are all amazing and I've no doubt I'll enjoy it more than Vol 8, but it's just not what people were expecting. Much respect anyways mate

EDIT: oh shit, Silkie's here! We better hide Cornbreadddd before he says something embarrassing...

i understand but when mala asked me to be on deep medi i didn't listen to the tracks on deep medi and think ohhh let me give him tunes like that, so i don't try and fit the format, also when i was still consuming a lot of music and i heard pure garage i wasn't upstep at the lack of dubs lol. its a mix not a compilation. and when people listen to the other volumes now I'm sure they don't think oh mayyyn wheres the dubs.

Fair play to you, was just clarifying that no one's doubting the quality of the mixing or selection. Looking forward to hearing it :Q:

I've gotta ask though, why no Kromestar or Jay 5ive?

...that's because they're packed full of dubs.... a couple of them have tunes that still haven't been released.

This. A thousand times this.

Big up Silkie, I'm sure the mix is gonna be great. But it's a Dubstep Allstars. The one's that have gone before are so special and such a great representation of the sound the DJ(s) were involved in. I just don't feel that this one is going to be that from the look of the tracklist. It's just gonna be a good dubstep mix. Which is fine.. But it's a Dubstep Allstars...

Perhaps I'm just being a bitch about it and should wait for it to come out. Large up the Silkie & Quest in any case.

I think the tracklist looks great. Really excited for this! I love how some of their older 2007 releases like the Seafront made it in because the music really is timeless in my eyes. Whoever said Joe Nice for volume 10, I must agree! He could easily fill a double album of unreleased dubs. It would also be cool knowing the whole thing was recorded on acetate!

i think that was his point... most tracks are released now but it doesn't take away from the other allstars when u listen to them today.

but i would agree that, at the time of release, people probably expect dubs galore and could be justifiably disappointed here because of that.

in any case though there's no rule that they need to be dubs. silkie and quest just doing their thing

So glad no Quest album tunes are on there. I really love listening to albums from start to finish without hearing any/many of the tunes on it beforehand in mixes and what not.. so in that respect i'm glad there aren't any of his dubs but I understand the disappointed of the lack of them, I was listening to n-types last night and forgot how incredible it is. Dubsteps got big enough now that people just want to hear new stuff non-stop, Jackmaster mentioned in an interview how you could just do a mix and put it on here and get loads of replies and listens but now its more important to hear new unreleased stuff instead of a tight mix of released tunes.

Im looking forward to it.Really wanna know if filth(silkie remix) is getting released.

Also seconding what that guy said about jackmaster. He constantly plays old stuff and kills it in the mix.

Just cause alot of DSF head have heard some of these tunes already doesn't mean everyone has!

lol. just because that'd be clashing with your concept of listening to albums in a whole before listening to any previews, or because you don't like 'em?
