Background, unobtrusive music with little structure and often no beat or melody. I guess it's a very loose term and open to interpretation, but I just find calling Demon Slayah (or just about anything by Kromestar except that beatless bit posted earlier and probably a few others I haven't heard) ambient really wrong. Like, if it came on at a club you wouldn't say 'hey, this is ambient!' cos you'd be too busy skanking and having your bones rearranged by the bass.

+1
Makes me laugh when someone describes a minimal but intense track as chill or ambient.
when someone describes a minimal/deep track which is clearly fuckin depressingly sad as chill. how can it be chill if it makes you cry? why are you chilling to music that inspires hacking sobs in otherwise healthy subjects?

Only thing false about this is the fact that, if this were by Excision, I probably wouldn't have even listened to it.
