Adding loudness to your track.

Post by DubMikey » Wed May 30, 2012 10:22 pm

It seems to me that everyone has figured this out, but me. Yes, adding loudness to your tracks, and of course, without ruining it.

Everytime I listen to a song on Soundcloud they are always much louder than mine. I always mix my tracks so they peak between -6 and -3dB. When I'm done mixing I normally render it out in .WAV and then boost it 3 - 4 dB with Maximus.

What am I doing wrong here? Any tips on this subject? Maybe I should have figured this out already, but what the hell.

you could watch the camo and crooked video where they explain their way to get to the loudest mix as i remember lots of subtile sidechain and making the ultra high end crips by adding tube or distortion so it can be loud without being too sharp but thats just one approach guess

Have you tried turning up the volume on your speakers? Should make things louder.
