I hate to say this, but I can tell 100% that those are Massive sounds because they just sound really standard. You should work on your sound design unless you really like what you're doing now.

I'm not really into sound design, I just tweak massive sounds until they are right. Sound design feels like a whole other area or work, but I do see how some of my stuff may sound generic.

I like the surprising melodic feel, as the sounds and rhythms that you use make you expect some tearout. The trancy breakdown felt like something unexpected also.

Regarding drums and bass sound design, they are competent, but I have heard the sound/patterns many many times and better.

Mixdown: I think it's a bit muddy.

I download and then fix them up to my liking. I don't actually know how all the knobs and sliders work on Massive, so I just play around until something sounds cool/good.

Yes you want to pick a synth, massive is good, and learn it inside out.

without using youtube videos? just use it. but watch the youtube videos =p even if you don't wanna make those sounds it'll show you what you gotta do to get a noise to do something intentionally as opposed to accidentally.

I Agree, I Use Reason 5, But The Lesson Is The Same. I Used To Just Download Patches, And Now I know how to make my own synths, basses, and everything, so if I want to make a sound, I don't Youtube a tutorial, I just DO it.

I guess I'll just play around, but does the song really sound that obvious?
