Nice to know he's into Sigur Ros and Bon Iver. Too bad the influence is non-existent.

Big Ups to Flux. He pretty much goes fully into how he produces a song. I've done the whole saws thing, and laid out my arrangement first. It's a great way keep a balance between creativity and 'musicality'. With this method, I've found that you keep yourself moving forward rather than easily getting lost in sound design with fx and resampling. Also does a good job of showing how layers can create an overall sound, and the fact that he uses "Daydreamer" as the example (no pun intentended lol) is great for new budding producers b/c they all can identify with flux. This video ALSO does a good job of showing ONE way of producing/workflow and again affirms the idea that there is no one right way to do something.

Why did I think Flux Pavillion was from the U.S.A?

Anyway...... seems like a nice guy. Wouldnt let him shag my sister though.

How easy is it to hire an orchestra?

He causually said it like "yeah i just hired a f*cking orchestra to play the strings, and that's how I got that sound"... :o

Ok. Thanks Mr Pavilion. I'll try that.

What surprised me the most about flux pavilion though, not that it has something to do with the vid, is that he can sing pretty good. :O

I really enjoyed that..quick and to the point covering his studio setup and writing process. Oh yea, and whooshes EVERYWHAR.

I've rinsed the producer master classes and RBMA lectures, can anyone recommend some more artist tutorials/interviews similar to this one?
