[Demo] Something minimal..

Post by Tom_ED » Mon Jun 11, 2012 7:04 pm

This is one of my first proper tunes , I thought i'd see what others think and see if i could get any advice on how i could maybe make it less repetitive. It's a bit grimey and minimal.. Also still a work in progress and could do with being mixed a lot more but just want to see what could be improved

Any feedback is appreciated :)
Thanks

The intro is a bit on the sparse side, like there is a lot of space between the hits...interesting percussion hits you've got going on in there though. Liking some of the sounds in this overall, bass is deep if a little repeated, and the percussion is interesting. Maybe a bit of variety of the programming though, it sounds a bit rigid in places :)

Yeah i was thinking maybe adding a sample to make the intro less dull, or just add a some different hits or a pad.. After listening back quite a few times i think that that bline needs to be tweaked a bit along with the percussion pattern
Thanks for the words

dude i love the hook in this track, wicked.. the drums definitely need lots of EQin and probably some layering, the clap sounds very weak and thin..

I've tried EQing the kick and snare more and have changed the percussion round a little more too
