in my opinion, it's more about the discovery of finding something beautiful that no one else has found. the things that are popular always become diluted.Killamike49 wrote:Fine, you got me on that, I suppose. But, obscure=quality, how?
Being popular doesn't make it bad - just not exciting anymore.

Re: zeds dead drums
This kind of contradicts your statement of "you can't be a hipster if my bloody valentine's loveless isn't your favorite album of all time". Sorry if I'm seeming like a twat, but i really hate hipsters. I like things noone's discovered too. Does that make me cool? Not really. And if you like things that are obscure, but you're cool about it, and not like, i am the most obscure of the obscure, we're good. I guess i should clarify, I hate twat-faces who think liking things that are quirky makes them special, which i have defined as a hipster. If I've been wrong in my designation of the word, i apologize.bassinine wrote:in my opinion, it's more about the discovery of finding something beautiful that no one else has found. the things that are popular always become diluted.Killamike49 wrote:Fine, you got me on that, I suppose. Re: zeds dead drums
I don't really care whether somethings been popularized or not. I like something because I enjoy it, not because it's obscure or popular. Who gives a flying fuck about whether I'm one of the first to like it... I love the beatles, one of the most popular bands of all time. I also like blue sky black death and jai paul, two groups that most people have never heard of. I like them because of the music they make, not because they're popular or not popular. Discontinuing to like something due to its popularity is absurd at best. How can you enjoy listening to music now that listening to music has become so popular?
Re: zeds dead drums
you're getting YOUR and MY definition of hipster mixed up.
i said i think a hipster is one who cares more about innovating than imitating. not one who disregards anything that is deemed "popular." this obviously is different than what YOU consider a hipster to be (a pretentious douche bag).
i agree with you, one shouldn't let other another persons taste affect their own personal preference... that's ridiculous.
innovating > imitating. i'm all about what's next... doesn't mean i can't appreciate the classics.

How many hipsters does it take to change a light globe?
Some obscure number you probably haven't heard of

Fair play. Sounds pretty reasonable to me.bassinine wrote:you're getting YOUR and MY definition of hipster mixed up.

Synth Help! Zeds Dead
Hey guys so I'm wondering how to make this sound any classification or ideas on how to make it would be awesome. I'm not too good at FM synthesis, so if one of you guys could explain how to make it in a program like massive it'd be much appreciated. Any tutorials similar would also help loads.

based by the amount of comments on your signature I can see people like YOUR music. dont try and copy ZED'S music. be creative and make your own sounds!
