Woo I just got asked to take over a fairly popular local radio show once a month Awesome timing too, the other day I did my first live stream mix and I was just talking to a friend about starting a monthly show, so it'll be awesome to not have to deal with the whole starting up shit, this show is already my cities longest running DJ mix show. Got my dad into dubstep over the last few months, his last facebook message just made me happy that he's listening to everything I send him

Hi Nate. I listened to Burial. I liked it. It was cool because of the unusual combination of metallic industrial sounds (which seems like a trademark of his), a bit of intentional static, and the syncopation with horns and bass. Southern Comfort was a good example. Also on his Untrue Album Archangel was great vocals that lift it up. Only thing is after awhile it puts me in a dark mood because the music is fairly universally dark. that's ok in small doses, but eventually I need to step outside to get sunshine to remind myself that life is GOOD! Know what I mean? If he had a few upbeat tunes in the middle of the dark I think I'd even like his dark stuff more because it would capture a broader range of life emotions and human experiences and...be more fun to dance to. Know what I mean? But maybe that's why you listen to more than one artist . SKREAM is still my #1 dubstep guy on that basis. I like for example "Snarled" and "Fnkonomica" on Skreamizm Volume 6 - ITM edition - released 2011. All good stuff!

I'd disagree with my dad on Burial, I think a lot of his music is actually really happy, but regardless it just makes me happy that he's taking an interest
