Yeah I guess, also It's the whole streetwear 'snap backs n tattoos, all that cos cash rules' image that goes with it. Fuck off you sheep.say_whut wrote:A lot of this stuff, admittedly, does suck. I mean alot of the people who like this music and go to the gigs are just like bait teenagers, head to toe in streetwear, following the crowd. Obviously not everyone but a vast amount.wolf89 wrote:It did as in it was readable.Agent 47 wrote:I'm pretty sure what i said made sense?wolf89 wrote:Wat

And the 'snap backs n tattoos, all that cos cash rules' I've just heard loads of people say it and post it on facebook and it's soul destroying.
Those things make me look on this type of music with little optimism, which is a shame cus I'm sure there is some good shit out there.

tnght is the game changer for you? they're good, but i figured that if you considered trap bland then tnght would be torture...say_whut wrote:A lot of this stuff, admittedly, does suck. i've heard a few projects better than them recently, but unsurprisingly no one cares because it's not hudmo and lunice

There's a difference between being stripped back and blandknell wrote:tnght is the game changer for you? they're good, but come on, if you consider trap bland then tnght should be torture...say_whut wrote:A lot of this stuff, admittedly, does suck. Just cause there's not much in the tracks doesn't mean they're boring. There's so much energy to it compared to most of the people trying the same thing in this thread.

Re: Future Bass Mega-thread (Trap/Bass/Rap/???)
i absolutely agree, that's not what I meant. i've listened to the tnght snippets on end for hours, and will listen to the release for days, just didn't think anyone would single them out.
Re: Future Bass Mega-thread (Trap/Bass/Rap/???)
I think, not even within the realms of trap but electronic music as a whole, that what TNGHT are doing is very different. It's so minimal in structure and still loses none of it's energy. It is far from bland too, I've loved Hud Mo since his Warp debut and everything he's produced has differed even within EPs and his LP covered loads of sounds. I somewhat singled them out because they have been slung into this genre but they strike me as doing something far more enjoyable, different and longer lasting than these quick fix tunes that seem to be coming out all the time. Fair enough, it's a new-ish genre and this kind of saturation may be expected but it's just a bit too much of the same thing. Don't get me wrong, I was so hyped at so much of the earlier tunes in this thread and what we all discovered in Rustie's essential mix but already I am getting bored of this sound.wolf89 wrote:There's a difference between being stripped back and blandknell wrote:tnght is the game changer for you? they're good, but come on, if you consider trap bland then tnght should be torture...say_whut wrote:A lot of this stuff, admittedly, does suck. Now, there's nothing at all wrong with that (Flosstradamus' remix of Original Don is huge) but I think TNGHT are taking bass music as a whole to an interesting new place and there's something special about this EP that I'm feeling. Energetic tracks are all well and good, but it's the simplicity of TNGHT's tracks that I'm enjoying more so than 95% of this run of the mill trap stuff that seems to keep coming.
Idk, I know if I don't like it, don't listen etc etc but it's an interesting discussion regardless

Re: Future Bass Mega-thread (Trap/Bass/Rap/???)
i think what tnght is doing goes a lot further than just trap stuff, some of the stuff isn't trap it all... like gooooo, bugg'n, easy easy - i wouldn't call those trap beats at all.knell wrote:tnght is the game changer for you? they're good, but i figured that if you considered trap bland then tnght would be torture...say_whut wrote:A lot of this stuff, admittedly, does suck.
