I hope that you do understand that as dubstep becomes bigger, that will bring more whack DJ's, whack producers, etc to the scene...

i never understand why people worry about expansion. everything is exposed. everything is global. instead of worrying about it, why not embrace it. life is too short to be wrapped up in trying to stay underground and stay isolated. the beauty of being a musician in 2006 is the global opportunities made possible by the net, at very little cost.

there's still a LOT of good music and good discussion on DOA,

doa is like sifting through junk email. 75% rubbish, 25% content. back in 2002 it was a different story.

I'm just saying, I'd rather buy from labels who are keeping it grass roots as far as the artists go... I realize it's a business and all(for them), but there is a certain point where it comes down to integrity... so far, not many people have had to choose between making good tunes, or making what will sell--just so it sells...

but that day is coming, and when it does, it's going to get less and less pure. I kinda like how tight this scene is now. What's going to suck, is when we can't just email our favorite producer and get a response.

As of now, all looks bright.

...the whole cutting dubplates thing is still a bit backwards looking though

I know for a fact that there are dubstep tracks out that are being rinsed NOW by some big names that I don't think are really all that great...

This is what makes dubstep GOOD, if every DJ was playing only tunes you liked it might get boring for the rest of us

Seckle, the problem inherant in ever increasing expansion is . . . well, it should be fairly obvious. & The problems faced with being a musician in 2006 are basically the same as they always have been, playing someone elses game, by their rules on their home ground, its just these days there are more ways to disengage with the main event and remain viable.

i know i would buy a lot more records if they were cheaper. i still don't understand why records are so expensive, while the people who make them still have dayjobs.i'm curious with this many people on this site everyday, why more people aren't doing white label stuff through paypal or something, cutting out middlemen.
