I'm such an idiot, been a fan of Jack sparrow and Ruckspin (and the whole Ranking crew generally) for as long as i've been listening to this genre, got pretty much all their releases (i think) but only just found that they are Author. And I haven't even listened to Author. I don't even understand how i didn't find out...

Avoided curiosity all day, just got the album on digital, gonna crank it in bed, i hope it's as sick as it should be.

i became genuinely nostalgic when i saw this poster from a party back in 2009



i'm not usually one to reminisce and go on about the good old days but i felt a bit bad thinking how it used to be, looking at the lineup you realise it was all one family and harmony in the dubstep scene, there was only "dubstep" category, no one talked about brostep or "future bass" or whatever.. i'm not longing the "dmz parties/sound", unity, bassweight, being underground or whatever, how could i when i was only introduced to the sound round the time of that party, but all in all it was sort of innocent even as late as 2009, pretty much everything with the label "dubstep" was great and amazing and fresh, and it wasn't a curse word.. you could have rusko in a party and 150-200 people came, helluva party, nowadays u can't possibly dream about getting a hold of him and he's somewhere in cali sniffing coke off a groupies arse and throwing tantrums making shite music.. things change but it's weird how fast music completes it's life span these days
