HIT&RUN LONDON
presents RIZ MC 'MICroscope' ALBUM LAUNCH PARTY
There is a bit of a backstory.
Riz MC started a club-night called HIT&RUN whilst at Oxford Uni with 2 friends. After 7 successful years there, a wing in Manchester was started, which has since established itself as a hub for a lot of the talent now streaming from there.
With the launch of Riz's critically-acclaimed, forward-thinking album MICroscope (released this week on Tru Thoughts), and the emergence of many Hit&Run regulars as heavy hitters on the bass music scene, it seems the right time to throw the first Hit &Run party in London.
Riz continues to be one of the most electrifying and eloquent proponents of modern UK rap. Proud of UK Dance Music's pedigree for inventiveness as much as its quality, he has delivered an album that is cutting-edge in more ways than one. He never fails to engage with his audience on several levels; with all the gang behind him, this performance will be extra special.
dBRIDGE and ZED BIAS have been playing at HIT&RUN for years, and share a taste for genre-spanning sets, and have also delivered outstanding tracks and remixes for the 'MICroscope' album, so they are the perfect guests for the night. Zed continues to be the collaborator and coaxer of dozens of Manchester's young producers-talents, and continues to be a central and influential figure in UK dance music ever since his explosion onto the seen with the modern classic that is "Neighbourhood".
SKITTLES also performs in London for the first time with his full live band. His album released on Manchester's own Estate Recordings has been very well received since it's release, garnering praise from the likes of Goldie, London Elektricity and Mary-Anne Hobbs.
BIOME and CHIMPO are 2 of Manchester's highest profile new producers and DJs, and are currently ravaging the scene with their inventive and original dubplates.
The line-up is completed with Hit&Run's head-honcho RICH REASON, Hota:Hoya maestro JONNY DUB and some London based friends of the night including DJ BARELY LEGAL and the YEAH MAYBE DJs.
