Wasnt this the thing that caused the freash/pendulum (bbkaos) split? That it was put out with out pendulums consent and included un-finished versions of tracks or something.

plus i quite liked Kosheens hide you, but wasnt in the Uk untill after '03 .. and wasnt following the "scene" so didnt care or notice any of this haha.
@wub: that does seem like a quality mix, think il try and get ahold of it

People shit on commercial success far too much. Guess they should've followed the concord dawn roadmap and be one completely irrelevant after a bit of fan faire
It's kinda perplexing.... No one really shits over decoder and substance for kosheen, which was equally cheeseriffic for the most part
No one shits on future cut for producing shitty Lilly Allen tunes or the one hit wonder status of un-cut
Most of the shot storm evolved from the amount of access Doa had to the pendulum boys in their infancy and just became cultural fodder from there
If decoder or the boys from future cut had been staples on doa they'd have caught shit for their success
hmmmm or maybe people just hate them because they make cheesy garbage clownstep ?

Clownstep or not the first time anyone of the biggest heads in the world heard vault they lost their shit. I was likely at one of the first shows it was debuted at and it shut the place the fuck down. 3 rewinds from doc 2 from high contrast
It's everything after that that followed and upset the masses.
Tho I'm sure one could argue they borrowed a lot from the shot down on safari sound
Truth be told it was called swingstep prior to vault then everyone went "you mean we can change time in the middle of a song???? Wat!"
Then it was a gimmick.... You can't blame them just like you can't blame Andy c for bodyrock

So you could say they are the Nero of DnB? In that Normal folk like them loads but DnB folk dont and they are seen by the masses as great DnB? (probably a bad analogy..nero/dubstep)
I dont really know alot about DnB but I liked pretty much everything they have done but then that might be because I associate them with festivals ive had awesome times at or road trips to places with mates playing Hold your colour in the car.
Kind of curious as to what their 2013 album was sounding like.

Nero were the Nero of d&b they had a dozen or so releases before heading to dubstep
Not to start a shitstorm but pendulum had a meteoric rise somewhat like skrilkex. Big established name champions them giving em instant cred and they just took off from there. Slam was on tv and massive fast... It's kinda hard to compare given what social media is today and YouTube and all that.
If i could put a finger on the exact moment when the tide turned for pendulum it was around the taz and beefy time (YouTube it). When the warhead remix caught the light of day a little before and was used in that bid it was game over. Before that the hate wasn't so blatant

I ran the official taz and beefy myspace page and did the hosting for a number of the vids
Had about 20 remixes submitted to me... Some of them were fucking fantastic
Someone eventually found taz and he had no clue he was an Internet hero... Few follow up vies exist I believe

I liked some of the tunes on their first album. Slam &Tarantula and that...Saw it as student music, though. People loved it just coz they heard it in their SU whilst fingering a random art student etc. You know.... (edit - just realised that sounds like I'm saying that's why i liked them haha. Not what I meant. Alas, I've never fingered a random Art Student in an SU bar.)
Mainly, this is good because now Ben Verse can make more tunes. Yay.

You truly are a solider. Why you weren't included in the queens birthday honours list is beyond me

Yeah but they are known as "dubstep" people by the masses. I was going to say Skrillex but that never goes down well in any topic anywhere on earth

but you basically said what I was getting at.

when i first started going out with a girl we were talking about music and i was like yeah i listen to dnb now and again and she's like oh you like pendulum and i said their old stuff was cool (vault, masochist) etc and i was like oh i'll show you some good dnb so i sent her japanese electronics as call 2 mind had just come out and she liked it and then it got to xmas and intalex just had a fabric cd out (big up DH for having a remix of his tune on there) so i bought her it secretly for me and she didn't like it. obvs was all about pendulum so we only lasted 3 years together.
