GIANT wobble bass creation.

Post by axolotl-dubstep » Wed Jun 27, 2012 12:03 am

Cutting to the chase,

How is this mid-range bass made? It's harder than you think. I've been mucking around with de-tuning sines, over-driving sines, FX processing, finding EQ formant spots, flippin' hard!

Anyone with a how to would be so appreciated :)

there is probably a square or a saw even in there. Reverb - maybe some subtle chorus - distortion. If you are using Massive using a bit of modulation on a formant setting might help out (it is pretty squelchy)

i think giant used sample and hold slightly on that bass. also, envelope to lowpass on multiple squares set to different octaves with a fair bit of resonance and distortion.
