This is what I'm talking about:alphacat wrote:There's a tiny bit of a learning curve to Triqtraq, but you it doesn't take much effort to get something funky going. I thought the same thing before I got it and it was only the demo above that nudged me to try it, glad I did now. Everything's pretty simple and straightforward once you get used to the flow. It's a good toy to play with when you want to make sounds without necessarily committing to a full song setup and all that. Sound quality's pretty decent too.nowaysj wrote:I don't know. It is kind of impossible to make figure sound bad. You can make dope little beats with it, but just can't do anything with it. This app seems a little more like you'd kind of have to work at it. I really wish you could arrange in figure.
After all, what good is something you can make dope little beats on but can't export?

Re: best iOS/android music productions apps
i've been using nanostudio for about six months. At first i thought it was a great idea pad but i wouldn't make a full song. After six months of using this app which has everything you need too make big thick leads, nasty basses, punchy drums i have 1 song almost finished as well as mixed all on the phone.although making big stereo sounds some times takes copying a whole sampler channel with efx then giving either detune or stereo off set from the original and pan them hard left and hard right. anyway heres a little loop of one of the beats i made on my phone

^ Sounds sick! There are definitely limitations and required workarounds, granted - but sometimes that stuff spurs creativity too I find, as long as it's not too too complicated.
If anyone here that uses Nanostudio is interested in sharing TRG kits, Eden patches, .NSP files, whatever - let me know.

Re: best iOS/android music productions apps
Yeah, Sunvox - an OG tracker-style DAW that's apparently really deep. My buddy has it and loves it and he's not even that technically proficient, barely scratched the surface. Stuff like FX automation and sidechaining are very attractive though, since those are limited or non-existent in Nanostudio. At $4.99 you probably can't go wrong, even if it winds up getting used as a glorified synth app.bassinine wrote:excuse my ignorance, alpha. but, what app is that with the modular routing?

As far as I can tell there's no record/copy capability, which is too bad. But hey, we'll have Audiobus soon right?

Not sure if this app has been mentioned..
Caustic 2 (DAW):
Getting an Android tablet later this week, and looking into some apps for it.

^ How ironic, came here to post somewhat related news...
Yeah, Caustic is decent. Not as full-featured as Nanostudio imo but fun and potentially useful, sounds alright too.

Caustic Modular Prototype for iOS
Caustic, a popular Android Acid App, may be coming to iOS as an entirely different beast! Developer Single Cell Software has announced Caustic Modular. This is a full feature modular synth designed for the touch screen... and you can play with a prototype! It is available now on Mac or Windows.
I've been playing with it this morning and it is off to a great start. You can add and remove a lot of different modules that are already programmed. You play with their knobs on the front, but the back is where the magic happens!
It is a lot like Propellerheads' Reason, as you flip back and forth between the panel and a whole bunch of wires! Knobs! Wires! Either way you look, you can't lose. The last panel is a global effects rack which adds a lot to the raw sound.
You can help Rej by poking around and giving him presets, bug reports, and module component ideas.
I've been working on and off on this prototype since February, bits and pieces in between "serious" coding sessions for the app itself. The plan for this thing is to create a new machine to add to your rack in Caustic, but I'm also thinking of releasing it as a stand-alone iPad app to test the iOS waters.
But first I'd like to gather some feedback with a stand-alone PC/Mac version.
Be sure to read all of the blog post announcing it. No additional documentation is available, and this is serious business.

Re: best iOS/android music productions apps
what hardware are people using??
I got the griffin MIDI connect and it's great.. I made a mistake and purchased the IKmultimedia iRig Midi.
it was total crap
they sent the wrong cables (2xusb and 1xmidi instead of 2xmidi and 1xusb) and it never showed up when I went to map ports in the AniMoog
I'm saving up for the alesis io dock
