Balotelli Appreciation

Post by murky21 » Fri Jun 29, 2012 10:18 am

Thread is well overdue
Hands down the most entertaining footballer in the world if you include his general personality as well.

He's a bit of a twunt, but his second finish last night was FIYAH.

Hold tight Alex Song breaking his leg this season.

Balotelli is a fucking legend, good footballer and a proper character. Some of my favourite stories I've heard about him;
  • Setting off fireworks from his kitchen/bathroom and the fire brigade being called
  • Leaving midnight mass at Christmas to go the pub next door, buying the whole pub a round, then going back to church
  • Going round Manchester City centre dressed as Father Christmas giving our £20 notes to homeless people
  • When asked for his autograph at a training session, asking the kid why he wasn't in school as it was during the week. When the kid confessed he was being bullied, driving the kid to his school, getting his bully out of class and then officiating whilst they sorted their differences out
  • Running up £250k+ in parking tickets round Manchester city centre by just leaving his car whereever he feels like it (bus lanes, disabled spots, pavements etc)
  • Getting pulled over by the police and, upon a search of his car, having £60k in cash in his glovebox. When asked why he has £60k in his glovebox, he shrugged and said "I'm rich".

Legend, the prem would be shit without him.
The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it,

because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over.

That's the only one I'd not heard already... bloody brilliant!

Still, I reserve the right to forget all his entertainment value as soon as he puts that sky blue shirt back on.

Anyone else thought the 3 turquoise stripes were a disguised publicity stunt for adidas? I'm confused...

Awwww...
Did you give a tramp £1,000 after winning in the casino?
"Never"

Is it true a young lad turned up at the training ground asking for your autograph and, when asked why he wasn't at school, he said he was being bullied, so you took him to school and spoke to the headmaster?
"No. It's not true I took him to school. I tell him why he wasn't at school but not took him to school."

Did your mum send you to John Lewis for an ironing board and you came back with a quad bike, a Scalectrix and a tennis table?
"Yes. But not a tennis table, it was a trampoline." :h:

Are you allergic to a specific kind of grass?
"I'm allergic to the dry grass, not the green one, the brown one."

Did you go to church on Xmas Eve and put £1,000 in the collection plate?
"I put some money in but not a thousand."

Did you go to the pub in Wythenshawe and buy everyone a drink?
"No"

Did you go to a petrol station and pay for everyone's petrol?
"No, not true."

Did you drive around Manchester dressed as Santa handing out money?
"No."
The "because I'm rich" one reminds me of a Jack Nicholson story... apparently Jack was in a restaurant in NYC just after the smoking ban came in. Dude finishes his meal and lights up a massive cigar at which point a waiter comes over and reminds him of the smoking ban... Jack tells him to get lost. Waiter comes back telling him that the police will be called if he carries on smoking:

"How much is the fine?"
"$5000" (or something)
*pulls $5k out of wallet, hands it to waiter* "Now, fuck off and let me smoke in peace".

No doubt it's been embellished over time, but I want it to be true.
