either way, whether it has or not, its only in your own mind. there's no way to quantify how big something is. millions of people like jungle. millions like dubstep. alot of those people like both./ i like both

there is a lot of poop mainstream dnb out there now, so i could see how one could neglect jungle for dubstep . i have too , to an extent. but i dont like either of them more than the other . i get bored of one , listen to something else, but i always come back

same answer

i mentioned mainstream dnb because there's alot of crap out there, and its caused me, and alot of people im sure, to look for fresh beats . dubstep being a new sound to my ears, i find that im more interested in the newer dubstep i hear , but that doesnt mean i dont still bump jungle mixes in the whip every damn night

the fact is , i still go back to jungle, as well as the million of other genres im into.

Bit of a silly/overly subjective thread. I was too young to have anything to do with jungle but it was fairly massive, whereas dubstep is, and I reckon will continue to be, a bit of a minority concern.

Personally I don't think of music "eclipsing" other musics. It's not a competition.

I think you all misunderstand the thread..

This is in no way about production value as about the aesthetic and delight found within a certain genre of music in which being Dubstep which is an evolution of Jungle in part.

Oh and Product you can get a life you god dam Yank goon.

no but seriously...

it seemed like jungle took a while to really move in new directions. or at least longer to how fast dubstep seems to evolve. it seems like every week there's some new tune that redefines what i think of as dubstep. whereas you'd have to wait a month or two to hear some amazing new dnb tune.

the last dnb tune that did anything for me was Outlook - Satisfy

haven't heard anything since then that just blew my mind. of course i haven't been looking for dnb.

it's almost like dubstep producers sit down and try to reinvent the sound with every track.

Thats the thing Product.

Jungle was so enclosed within the UK for so long that it obviously cannot be directly compared to dubstep. That would be foolish,

Dubstep became international with months, as soon as some guy found a tune online and decided to make there own.

I'm talking about my own tastes as an OS Jungle DJ.
