I swear just about every time Percy is mentioned on here, it's that it's either overrated, or not as good as Fierce. Maybe not an unpopular opinion.

It is overrated, but only by people that probably haven't heard the likes of Stomp or Pulse Whatever, it's still good though, and here's an unpopular opinion... Percy is better than Fierce :W:

to be fair sometimes people do post actual house and techno in the 'house' forum rather than just 808/swamp sounding stuff lol. theres def a lot more good music in that forum than the others too.

i wish there was more discussion in the house forum though - not wishing the problems of the general discussion on it. but it moves sooo slowly compared to the other forums and people should be doing more than just posting releases and saying sick bruv or whatever lol. also maybe the techno thread should be in there for all the younglings discovering the joys of techno through whoevers jumped on the bandwagon this week...just an idea.

Is it gonna be people that actually know something about techno posting though, or those who've decided this week that they never liked dubstep anyway, and have been totally into it since Deep Sea Dweller, when really the only 12" they've got is "Swims"?

 good point.

maybe there should be a TECHNO and HOUSE FOR DUMMIES thread or something in there though. Helix's thread on kids having no frame of reference kind of made me think about starting one to show people where the sounds they like came from originally.

the lack of pace with posting in the house forum is one of it's principal charms imo

i know what you mean! i love the forum its my favourite one on the site aswell as the snh. i just wish there was a tiny bit more healthy discussion of stuff in there sometimes thats all :|

at the same time i don't want it to turn into a flamewar fest. maybe it should just stay the way it is idk

I know little to nothing about house, and tbh I'm a bit scared to break into it - there's SO MUCH and I don't know where to start.

1. go to hardwax releases section
2. click house section
3. start previewing tracks
4. buy stuff you like (prob. everything lol)

Start with disco. Work forward to now. Listen to EVERY release, otherwise you might miss something you like.
