I'll tell you what the vibe right now is people!!

get a violin sample or whatever, then loop about 1/4 of a second of it and BAM. Never gonna synthesise anything ever again!

After this techno tune im finishing im gonna make a proper oldschool ravey thing- bit like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thZV9-rTDwY. Breaks and everything.

Yeah I'm with Nowaysj haha. I used to use almost all samples - if you listen to some of my earlier tunes like Thaw, those strings are cut up/processed samples from the Real Strings sample packs on Loopmasters

But using synths/designing your own sounds is just more genuine, and it gives you more control over the melody - so when it comes to anything melodic, I'm a synth guy. The other shit is samples, there's no way I'm going to synthesize my own drums

Iss all good. Samples are just so rich. It's like, wow you blew up Hiroshima with a nuclear bomb, impressive. Blow up Nagasaki by rubbing two sticks together, and then I'll be impressed. No I wouldn't, I'd be horrified, you murderous bastard.
