Re: TEA!
Great little tea shop in Calgary called the Naked Leaf, they have some brilliant varieties. My favourites are (I'll list the ingredients incase anyone wants to find anything similar where they are):
Too Good to be Named - Black tea with safflower, pistachios and extra bergamot, definitely the best black tea I've tasted
Creamy Earl Grey - Basically a black tea with loads of bergamot to give it an extra creamy flavour
Chocolate Chai - It's a chai based tea but with chocolate nubs in it, absolutely great in the winter if you put some Bailey's in it
Toasted Almond Coffee - Great combination of roasted beans and roasted almonds with black tea. Probably my favourite morning tea
Non-Caffienated
Chamomile and lavender - Pretty obvious whats in that one, nice combination
Sage and Bergamot - Self explanatory again, but its a great before bed one since it's caffeine free.
Actually I guess they do have a website, worth poking around i'd say!

Mate in a gourd is where it's @, drank that all day in Hawaii.
Kicked Coffee with it too, for a while anyway.
These days the steeze is Chai Tea, with two shots of Espresso!

Doesn't keep it from being delicious. Moderation is key

A lot of the tea's have some form of side effect attached to it, so moderation is defo the key as someone suggested.

Re: TEA!
I would say Rooibos is quite smooth. Definitely sweeter, as you say. I like to mix it with a few camomile flowers or rose petals, sometimes with a dash of soya milk and some coconut sugar.Electric_Head wrote:Rooibos?? it's difficult to explain.
I find Ceylon to be more bitter than Rooibas which has a sweet fragrant flavor.
It's difficult to explain I guess as we drink it so often.
It's not like Earl grey that has a very unique flavor.
Matcha has become quite popular nowadays, at least in London. It's been advertised as one of them superfoods, apparently really good for you. I just like the flavour, though the stuff I have is not the highest grade - these are damn expensive!
I like Genmaicha, too. Always scoop out and eat the rice, heh.
Black tea with lemon, that's how I'm used to do it.
Ice tea only self made, none of that awful packed crap.
Oolong is great. I know there are many kinds, the ones I've tried were always very aromatic - when you smell it, it's almost like you'd stick your nose into a flower!
Chai - mix your own spices, add some fresh ginger, can also add some English Breakfast or Rooibos (works great with Chai spices for a caffeine free drink!) The best way is to brew a strong shot first and then fill the cup with frothed hot milk (I use soya) and sweeten (prefer coconut palm sugar...) I can also make a mean, creamy Chai cocktail with wild tequila
What about infusions? I love fresh mint, camomile, lemon balm (that stuff does calm me down!), oh dear, the list can go on...

I am a Mate addict.
Add some cocoa, Stevia, and cayenne pepper and you have the morning drink of champions.
