Koan sound / music theory
What are the scales used by koan sound in their songs? I have no idea of which scales and progressions they use to make their melodies/drops sound so funky and catchy.
Here is an example of what i mean:

Re: Koan sound / music theory
its all about the patterns plus the interaction with the drums listen to it and try to figure out when its useful to play a 1/16 and when they hold the note long just to go to play the scale down or up fast
Re: Koan sound / music theory
Funk is rhythm, not scales.

Re: Koan sound / music theory

Re: Koan sound / music theory
i have made a few koan style snares and bass patchs for massive they are quite tough to make..
Re: Koan sound / music theory
I just wanted to know which scales they use in order to get new ideas for my future productions, i never wanted to copy/imitate their own sounds.
