I can't think of a more useless thing to get out of a creative slump than reading 2 pages of DAW wars on the interwebz. So first and foremost, ignore everything in this post.

FWIW reason is a great tool. Far more talented producers than I (Falty DL and Logistics come time mind at first) make amazing, and amazing-sounding music with it. A good carpenter doesn't blame his tools; don't worry about your DAW.

Everyone, from folks just starting out on DSF up to people at the top of their creative game, makes absolute shit. all the time. dreck so embarrassing you'd think twice about even thinking about it. So... throw it away and start again. creativity requires courage and fortitude, courage demands a fair bit of failure, and failure is frustrating. period.

1 suggestion would be to stop making dubstep-- at this point in its meteoric rise, it's really easy to fall down a very narrow rabbit hole. Push forward into something else.

Don't get it twisted, i'm not frestrated at the genre just my production skills in general. This is the best hobby i've ever had (fuck photography lol) It sounds like you need a break from dubstep if thats how you feel about it
Fair enough, I wouldn't want to rob you of a hobby.

I'm not making dubstep, but when I was, I found it a bit formulaic. I would get feedback like "work on your wobble" like there was a correct, expected sound.

Spend more time watching videos on how to make fat basses.
Realise that its takes years to get good.
First of all....don't listen to this guy. Reason is perfectly fine. Many producers use it and make amazing music with it.

The next thing you need to do is keep working. You haven't even grazed the surface of the things you need to know after only 6 months. Funtcase has put in years doing this to get where he is now.
