Tbh I consider Magnetic Man, SBTRKT, Katy B, Nero etc as pop. Pop isn't a specific genre. Like garethom said, it doesn't need to be the bubblegum shit to be pop.

this threads become interesting again.... but only just.

^^ wouldnt consider SBTRKT to be pop either, the rest yes, but he is still very much so underground (just has a popular sound withen the dance music scene)

You're welcome :W:

Sonika, how the fuck have you not heard Crazy until now??? Like, even if you were too young when it came out, I don't know how you could avoid hearing it in all this time... And to you and the guy who just said he's stabbing puppies cos of what we've been saying: it's not that these are the best songs of the decade, it's just what people will remember in the future. Some are great songs, some aren't, whatever. It's just being objective about it. I had the same attitude when I was 15, ie. anything popular is automatically shit, but that changed. It probably will for you too.

innit. just kids trying to go against the grain.

its only been in the last year or two that ive realised there is A LOT of good pop music out there, despite the fact i hate most commercialised sounds.

p.o.p.u.l.a.r music

get's played on the popular radio frequencies, the stuff that gets chucked on adverts, the stuff that generally fills the "top 20" at your local music/CD store.

generalisations, but good going points.
