And i don't think it's stale because the music hasn't become generic yet - there are loads of artists still producing amazing and original pieces of work
LOL don't going taking this to any extreme or anything. I can't quite see how me asking you about something you said can end up bringing WW2 into the forum. Man that is some real poor way of discussing something, oh no wait you didn't.

The music is really freakin generic. Ever heard of songs?

p.s. thanks for buying and supporting Area on the last release. :W:

it doesn't i was talking to cornbreadd

his posting style is outrageous at times and talking nonsense about someone that i talk too is obviously going to get a response
Seriously? You act like I said the guy was a horrible person and kills people in his spare time. Perhaps I should have worded it a bit better, but I still don't think the comment warranted such a great deal of offense.

I personally have nothing bad to say about him as a person, I'm sure he's just as nice as anyone else, and probably a great guy to sit and chat with. But I just said that I've heard people talk about how he has come on the forums and spammed himself, you can't expect people not to get upset with him for that.

Do I care? No. He can spam all day, and it doesn't effect me in the slightest bit. That's a petty issue that people get way too bent out of shape over, in my opinion. However, I can still see how that would rub certain people the wrong way. Perhaps I should have replaced "rightfully so" with "as you could imagine," or something else that wouldn't infer that I personally have a problem with it.

Does that clear things up a bit?

maybe YOU could explain, what you find so refreshing about his sound? i got 3(?) of his records and i like the tunes, but i don't get the hype about compa and understand what's supposed to be that special about his stuff. sure, he's got his distinct sound, but many artists got that.

also
I find "the dubstep sound" very generic with very few pushing it's boundaries, which is what made the scene new and exiting in the firs place.
The guy is obviously doing something right, he's got nearly 2 pages of people moaning.
I do not see another thread on this forum with so many people moaning about how good or poor someone's track is. In fact in this music forum there are tons of threads no one even reads or comment in. Find it funny that one of the most popular threads on here this week (it is only wednesday) is people moaning 60 posts infact. ASC has a new album out that is excellent and has less than half the posts and half the views. So you cant say it's based on the quality of some ones music alone surely.
if many are saying it then surely it must be true?
these are very weak arguments. in fact, no arguments at all...[/quote]

None of these things are arguments, they are me stating my opinion. You lot are all happy to moan about something, but when i do the opposite i have no argument. But yes, it's boring and he shouldn't of done that because I feel it's sacrilegious are surely the best arguments going. Ah makes perfect sense now.

Then why are you still involved with it if you think it's so stale and generic?

And nobody was slagging anyone ffs. Just because some people don't like one of your mates' tune(s) doesn't mean they're all haters/jealous of his success

Yeah that WW2 example was a little much wasn't it ;)

Look I'm not looking to get into some huge forum argument, but why the he'll are you so involved in the scene if you think that it's so stale and generic? Maybe it's because I'm relatively new, but I think that all the cinycal speculation about the staleness of the dubstep scene is bullshit

And yeah, you're welcome.....

Shit thread imo, no one's even spoke about the tune for like two pages at least and i'm sure the only actual criticism was that 'it's boring'. (Apologies if anyone has actually given a detailed analysis of the tune).

Totally went off track, i agree with locking it. Start a new thread with regards to the staleness of the scene lol.

He is not taking the original to a new level or anything, nor does he butcher it. Why all the commotion..

I like his releases and it's good seeing him playing vinyl/acetate.
