[Ambient Dubstep] New Raven - Swanshore

Post by NewRaven » Thu Jul 19, 2012 3:00 am

Soundcloud

'Swanshore' is something very atmospheric with a long intro/build-up.. Some weird synths & pads hitting all around the track.
Any feedback is appreciated.

'New Raven' is a new producer creating dark, deep, minimal, atmospheric sounds.

Yay, another dubstep track with rain/weather effects!

The intro's a bit long. I know it was meant to be atmospheric, but as I was listening, I was waiting for something more interesting to come in. When the percussion came in, I started liking the song better, though it's still repetitive toward the end. Maybe you could bring the rain/thunder back into the song towards the end? I think that would be a nice touch.

Haha, i know, it's such a huge cliche now to have the rain effect, gonna try something more complex next time.
Also you're not the first to say the intro's a bit long, i don't know, i personally like the feeling it has, but i will have to put that into consideration.

Cheers for the feedback, I'll try things out and see how it turns out on for the final mix.

Don't worry about the rain thing, I actually just used some in my latest track and I think it works really well with dubstep. But if you can find/make something more complex that works well with what you have, then that's even better!

I think this is wicked, I'm all for long intros and this one works very well. I really like the atmosphere from the beginning, really good use of sounds and the panning adds a lot too. I like the beat, it has a kind of stomp feel to it which makes it stand out a bit. I also thought the water effect at the beginning fitted well, I suppose it has been done a lot, but it's exactly right for the atmosphere of this track and you've pulled it off.

Thank you! I'd say it's the most 'artistic' track I have put out so far, so it might not be for everyone, but I'm proud of it myself (:

Like this once it takes off, very nice atmos. Good job, Intro is definitely a bit on the long side, that would be my only negative point otherwise.
