lol still not sure, how would i work it out with tiemstretching?
Re: Working out the BPM
Tap the tempo in your daw this should get you pretty close. Then put the track on a audio track and make the needed adjustments by looking where the 1st beats fall on the timeline. I never do this, but this is how i'd tackle it.

Re: Working out the BPM
how is this so often a question?
do people know what bpm means?
do people know what bpm means?
Re: Working out the BPM
find a downbeat in the sample, place on a downbeat in sequencer, set bpm to your best estimate, then play. tap along to the music and adjust your bpm until your click is exactly on beat with the music.

Re: Working out the BPM
Try 140, 128, 112 and 87. If none of those work you're on the wrong forum.

These days I just use an app on my phone. You can try the old fashioned way and use a stop watch, count the beats for 30 seconds and then double it.
Re: Working out the BPM
I had a pella i didn't know the tempo for so i found the original on youtube and kept hitting play on the downbeat and slowing daw down untill i got it bang on.A bit of a half arsed way of doing it but i had the bpm down in a few minutes and the pella fitted like a dream.

Re: Working out the BPM
On Fl and Ableton you can use the tap function.
Re: Working out the BPM
Just use the metronome and figure out if it's too slow or too fast and adapt.
The only problem is with non electronic samples because they often aren't consistent in their tempo.
