why do filters only reach 16khz? Why not 20khz?
EVERY filter included that WOW only seem to go up to 16khz, and I know alot of sources claim that anything above 16khz is unnoticeable and wasted space, but I can notice a HUGE difference in my sounds when I apply the filters, are there any filters that reach 20k? It's like shaving the hair off a sexy import model, shes all bald and shit now.

I agree with this, in Sylenth, even when the filter is completely opened, you still lose a lot of brightness in the synth. There are ways around it, but it's just a nuisance.
Off topic: is your producing name really going to remain 'Mass Aphekt'? Not that it really matters, but it's spelt wrong, and it is already a game(assuming you didn't already know that).

It sucks, If you miss that top bit on wobbles I'd say look into modulating the volume with an LFO instead of the LP filter (or if you can a little of both
) always gives me much more aggressive results.

I actually agree with VirtualMark here. I don't see a need for the midrange to be in the high highs. Anyhow, if it really matters that much to you, you could do 1 of 2 things...
1) You can find a different filter
2) You can boost 16+ kHz with a high-shelf filter to regain those frequencies, taking into account that they never left, rather, they were made quiet.

Have you actually listened to it in context of your mix? Chances are the hi-hats and cymbals will be taking up plenty of space in that area and it wont be needed on your bass... ITS BASS!?

For guidance - a C8 note is 4186hz, this is the highest note on a piano. This has been considered sufficient to play music to humans for many years.
This frequency chart has some useful information. You'll see that at 16khz all you'd get from an orchestra would be some of the upper harmonics from things like cymbals, violin, piccolo.

sorry but everytime i see you post you always just seem to be looking down on everyone else asif they should know the infinite knowledge you have...
anyway lots of midrange basses include white noise or have harmonics which do reach those frequencys, OP said that when he used the filters it made the sound duller so clearly its shaving off the top end

Sometimes that "Dulling" that you're hearing from the filter can make the sound "Fatter" as well. Take into account the saw bass in the beginning of this tune:
There isn't any 16 kHz on that and, tbh, if there were, the sound would be a whole lot thinner.

yeah i agree with you jrisreal it deffinitly depends on the context of the song but sometimes there is alot of focus on the bassline so if theres not much high end on the rest of the track (dull or low pitched hihats etc.) the mix as a whole will be dull sounding.

I just can't believe how often this comes up - i saw someone say they boost their kick at 18khz the other week. If a sound is a bit dull, a high shelf or small boost at 4-6khz can usually brighten it up a bit. But boosting at 10khz or above can make a sound unpleasant, there's not a lot of musical stuff up there.

This is a common myth - as far as i'm aware no scientific evidence proves that we can hear outside of the normal hearing range. Digital audio at 44.1khz can only reproduce up to 22khz and mp3 will often be less, so there simply isn't any information up there.
