Reaper anyone?

Post by JTreeZY » Sat Jul 21, 2012 10:38 pm

I plan on getting Reason 6 at the end of the summer so that will be the primary program i use but I also would like to just play around wit different vsts that I torrent :) so Reaper seems like a good deal since its cheap. Anyone recommend it? Would you reccemend me buying reaper over torrenting another DAW is Reaper as good as the others?

Ive never used Reaper, but i suggest you try out the trial or buy the beginner version of Ableton? I actually switched from Reason over to Ableton.
I love making music.

Talking about torrenting a DAW is likely to get your thread locked and someone might step to you with the alpaca stance.

Buy your shit! Reaper is cheap, you can probably afford it with your allowance...

I would say that stealing software is the opposite of being honest.

thanks to you I know realize that all those classes that I took about digital crimes being analogous to normal crimes are total shit. So were all my ethics classes. Actually, I'm willing to drop out of law school and take classes with you instead.

Lifes too short to not have programs because you can't afford them. I'd be perfectly willing to buy them if i had the money and when I do I'll know which ones I like already. If I quit downloading shit i'd have to quit smoking weed too. Eh, i'll keep doing both I'm gunna buy Reaper though which was the whole point of this thread. Just wanted to see if anyone used it and is happy with it on this forum b/c I respect the community here. Lets not throw ideological hissy fits...

And I'll refrain from using the T word or the P word in the future

Gotta love how someone merely mentions torrents or "pirated software" and everyone gets pissy. I'm not ashamed to say that I torrented my first DAW and a few plugins when I first started producing. I ended up liking the products so much, I bought them. Just because someone downloads things "illegally", or is a "copy-leftist", doesn't mean that they're a "fucking moron" or some deadbeat kid. Don't cast the first stone, because a lot of us do things on the internet that are less-than-legal. I'm sure some of you have things in your browser history that you'd like to keep between you and your ISP, so if someone wants to download a bunch of shit, leave them the hell alone.

That being said, yes Reaper is pretty cool, and a very good deal for the price, so definitely get on that! :)

Such things can't be encouraged and should be staunchly discouraged on a forum such as this with prominent software developers as members who post here about their work and products. Btw ISPs don't usually log the sites you visit, so if yours does I'd suggest getting a new one lol.

Also, the original poster was the one who cast the first stone and called someone a 'fucking moron'.

Anyway, these kind of threads are not a welcome thing here, and this would normally have been locked and/or removed long ago like the others before it, but the active mod is on holiday.

I bought FL Studio Producer 10 recently (I started producing as an adolescent on a friend's hacked Frooty 3.4), but I'm still using my un-paid-for, fully functional, shareware Reaper, because I haven't switced over properly yet.
