More Blawan!
Re: More Blawan!
After finding out that I won't be receiving Ellipsis despite the fact I pre-ordered it the first day it went up, I highly doubt I buy another Hinge Finger release.

Re: More Blawan!
this was simply a matter of people thinking they could do something when they clearly had no idea how to do or the resources to follow through on it. i received my completely warped and unplayable copy about two weeks ago. not happy in the slightest, especially after being told that it was delayed because of bad pressings. why delay for a repress and not checked for warped copies?SCope13 wrote:After finding out that I won't be receiving Ellipsis despite the fact I pre-ordered it the first day it went up, I highly doubt I buy another Hinge Finger release.

Re: More Blawan!

Last year has been a year to remember for Blawan. Throughout 2011 he steadily carved out a reputation for producing infectious, hard-hitting dance music. His “Fram/Iddy” release on one of the finest labels going, Hessle Audio, caused quite a stir in the UK underground with gossip mongers sparking off false rumors that it was an alias for Hessle Audio co-founder, Ben UFO. his cold, percussive productions have grabbed the attention of not only Hessle Audio but legendary record label R&S Records with a superb new single. Twisted acid beats with a driving percussion and classic techno stabs. Blawan provides more evidence that he is currently one of the hottest and most versatile properties on the electronic music circuit, and one who can deftly jump between genres without any sense of displacement or naivety. The future looks bright. Blawan recorded live at the main stage of this year's Life Festival in Ireland. Enjoy

It's not like he dislikes Vivek or something.

Re: More Blawan!
Interesting that he says the drumming side plays basically no part in his production.
Re: More Blawan!
the percussion on "his money", "they choose...", and this untitled one are basically identical.BASED wrote:IS NO ONE ELSE SICK OF DUDE MAKING THE SAME SONG EVERYTIME??
i mean...he's good, but i dunno. i guess i'm just not feeling it nearly as much as everyone else.

Re: More Blawan!
i definitely feel that his sound palette is pretty samey lately. i never understood this with a lot of electronic producers. you literally have the option to use thousands of different sounds.
Re: More Blawan!
Well obviosuly he was making a track with those sounds and then more than one came out of it, if you get more than one good tune idea out of some sounds, whats the point in just scrapping it just cos it uses similar sounds.benq wrote:the percussion on "his money", "they choose...", and this untitled one are basically identical.BASED wrote:IS NO ONE ELSE SICK OF DUDE MAKING THE SAME SONG EVERYTIME??

cos it's a safe bet as it will always go off in a club. His drums are still the best besides Objekt. Noone else comes close. Maybe Shed actually but they are different again.bobsabarker wrote:i definitely feel that his sound palette is pretty samey lately. i never understood this with a lot of electronic producers. you literally have the option to use thousands of different sounds.
Re: More Blawan!
yeah, i wouldnt worry about it. a lot of producers just have small periods of time where they write some tunes using similar techniques and sounds (just look at what rama did with tunes like offal, kablammo eleven, blimey, drowning, etc), then they move on to the nextskimpi wrote:Well obviosuly he was making a track with those sounds and then more than one came out of it, if you get more than one good tune idea out of some sounds, whats the point in just scrapping it just cos it uses similar sounds.benq wrote:the percussion on "his money", "they choose...", and this untitled one are basically identical.BASED wrote:IS NO ONE ELSE SICK OF DUDE MAKING THE SAME SONG EVERYTIME??

yeah, fair play to him. i'm more fond of his stuff circa "bohla" but he's obviously talented and hardworking, so it's not like i'll start hating on him for writing a few tunes i'm not crazy about.Phigure wrote:yeah, i wouldnt worry about it. a lot of producers just have small periods of time where they write some tunes using similar techniques and sounds (just look at what rama did with tunes like offal, kablammo eleven, blimey, drowning, etc), then they move on to the nextskimpi wrote:Well obviosuly he was making a track with those sounds and then more than one came out of it, if you get more than one good tune idea out of some sounds, whats the point in just scrapping it just cos it uses similar sounds.benq wrote:the percussion on "his money", "they choose...", and this untitled one are basically identical.BASED wrote:IS NO ONE ELSE SICK OF DUDE MAKING THE SAME SONG EVERYTIME??

Re: More Blawan!
Check out his Third Side - Unity remix then, it seems to me a bit closer to that than the straight up militant beats he has been banging out lately. Still dont really have a phat sub though, maybe thats what you are missing?benq wrote:yeah, fair play to him. i'm more fond of his stuff circa "bohla" but he's obviously talented and hardworking, so it's not like i'll start hating on him for writing a few tunes i'm not crazy about.Phigure wrote:yeah, i wouldnt worry about it. a lot of producers just have small periods of time where they write some tunes using similar techniques and sounds (just look at what rama did with tunes like offal, kablammo eleven, blimey, drowning, etc), then they move on to the nextskimpi wrote:Well obviosuly he was making a track with those sounds and then more than one came out of it, if you get more than one good tune idea out of some sounds, whats the point in just scrapping it just cos it uses similar sounds.benq wrote:the percussion on "his money", "they choose...", and this untitled one are basically identical.BASED wrote:IS NO ONE ELSE SICK OF DUDE MAKING THE SAME SONG EVERYTIME??
