That sounds like alot of meticulously arranged sidechaining. The basic elements of the song are not exactly quantum mechanics. All about the mixdown.

you know ive been trying the to get the same thing on Massive, joyy wrote:Hi there,
how do you manage to get such a flexible automation of bass, like the ones in these songs - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omKH4QNvXlU (0:45 - 0:49)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9o2LHSO6IA (0:58 - 1:00)
It seems to me that it's a reese bass with some formant filter + time stretching,and/or pitch bending.....I've been trying to get that sound in ableton + vsts like massive, zebra 2, sylenth, i also used some pitch bending plugins. I didn't try mapping any params to a midi controller though.
Do you guys have any suggestions, or could you recommend any decent plugins which would be useful in creating that sound?
Thanks
the closest i got was adding an LFO to the pitch
on all 3 "pitch" sections on the oscillators
ive tried chaning it to "performer" and that still didnt work fully 100%
try it out and let me know if u get any luck.

how do I layer these silly airy sidechained pads after drop?
that's something that I've been trying to do for a month, but I suck at pad synthesis
or maybe it's FM?

Blend in some white noise in there, play chordsCobaltum wrote:

Track is no longer available.
I'm looking for the lead synth from this song starting at around 0:20.

Could anyone try to explain the synth that goes from 00:52-00:54 in this song?

what kind of chords? detuned saw waves? also Im also wondering how to create that similiar effect i know it consists of chords and brightness noise, perhaps a little phase or flanger to get that extra wishy washy effect and generous reverb but it's tough getting those clean chords flowing through nicely, I have been combining saws with squares, perhaps just saws with each detune of its own?Eskimo wrote:Blend in some white noise in there, play chordsCobaltum wrote:

The high pitched synth which comes in at about 0:14-0:15. It's a sound used by Daft Punk as well.
Anyone have any ideas what it's called or, even better, how to recreate it?
Thanks!

Sorry for the big picture, I'd make a video but was lazy and didnt feel like typing it all out, so, here it is, it's similiar to the sound you're looking for i guarantee, make sure to play with sync parameter on osc 1 and 3 to get different textures of the sound, also play with your macros to get extra movement and vibrato in your tune, you can also manually change your attack and level on any envelope to get interesting movement for your melodies, if you want a weird funky unique chord, just change from monophonic to polyphonic, you'll lose the cool glide effect if you change though
if you dont have massive, try different saws and PWM oscillators with vibrato, pitch bent envelopes that are either short or long in attack/release, allow portamento aka glide to your sounds in monophonic as well and add brightness and extra high harmonics to get that bright lead

Re: How To Make This Sound - January 2012
I've been trying to recreate the effect in the high wobble in Like This - Skism, , 0:41 - 0:42 (The first high wobble that has some kind of envelope on it) but to no avail. Basically I can't figure out what's giving it that fluttery feeling. It feels like something super-basic but I'm drawing blanks, feel like a total retard. Can't figure out the filter, closest I've gotten is probably bandpass/highpass with formant waves in massive but it's nowhere near. I also heard a similiar wobble in Ultra Flex by Street Lurkin, whom I saw post the other day. Where you at bro? Shed some light? <3
I know this is a retarded first post, and so not to look like a total jerk I figured I might share these kinda Skrilly/popeska growls that I thought some of you might be interested in. Soundcloud (Private link on my SC as I use it for posting my serious tunes)
I couldn't be arsed to automate them properly and the mix is still a bit rough as I haven't bothered using them in one of my serious tunes, but they sound a lot fuller than some of the stuff I'm hearing on here, so if I don't have to spend all weekend trying to get that damn synth I might write up a little guide or whatever thingy if anyones interested.

Anyone who has any idea of how to get a somewhat similar sound to the bassline in this one?

sounds like a bass guitar with distortion and an organ playing at the same time to me.DubMikey wrote:Anyone who has any idea of how to get a somewhat similar sound to the bassline in this one?

its a very fast lfo linked to either a low pass filter or volume, same speed as the wobbles after it, theres also a longer sweeping sound in it, probably another filter of some sort with an envelope sweep hooked up to it. Youll have to find a waveform that has a really ringy bellish top end like that. first thing I would try is an lfo on 16th notes linked to a low pass filter then a second filter set to band pass and then sweep it with an envelope. Its also got a yoy type wooaaaa noise layered under it that first time it plays.

How do I go about recreating those chord stabs you get in early 90s house? Sounds more sampled then synthesizer, but it most be from a common source as they usually sound similiar/distinctive, i.e. a sharp ASDR/Filter stab isnt enough to replicate it.

How do I get the sound like in this bassline (1:50)?
Best would be how do I get this sound in NI Massive?
