Theres a Brasil site where its 79 brasilian reals. Would there be tax?

plural form of real is reais. that's an international shop that ships to Brazil. You pay in dollars, when the product arrives, it's taxed. Expensive as fuck and lately the international mailing service has been shady as I said. I lost a few t shirts and a hat that I paid for. Don't want to drop a hundred bucks on a fucking usb drive to find out that it has been lost after a 2 month wait.

Oh. Thats sucks. Why the fuck do they need it that way? Why not just a little download and an authorization code. What bullshit.

iLok is stupid. The most annoying part IMO is that it takes up a USB port that could be used for something else like a controller or interface. I'm glad linux devs don't dare do stunts like this...

Buy a secondhand kontakt 4, it's a massive investiment, it's awesome for bassline manipulation too.

edit: ehbrums, believe it or not but inmates used pidgeons to smuggle cellphones into prisons once. an ilok would be way easier I guess, will consider. :cornlol:

Sounds like a great idea. I'll look into it. I've seen the resampling it can achieve.

i dont believe there is a big enough market of linux users for it to be worth their while

Well linux software is almost all open source, so that stuff's free anyway...no need for licensing anything.

There's still licenses on open source, but yeah not much in the way of crazy copy protection.

I don't mind iLok any more personally. USB hubs are great, I ran out of ports long before I got an iLok haha.
The bigger problem is companies who wrap code in security checks and callbacks, it slows stuff down. Or rather, stuff could be a lot faster and more efficient without it. iLok is actually rather simple and convenient, I can take the dongle anywhere and my licenses pop up on any computer in the world. Just make sure no one steals it haha (easy enough to backup though).

Hircine yeah Tonehammer did a lot of amazing vocal stuff, their products are now divided into 2 other companies one being that 8dio, and the other is Sound Iron I think.

you dont really need kontakt to be able to use it. most of the time the samples are in wav format. it would just be a bitch to sort through them all

^ I have a few libraries like that, and yeah it's a pain. Usually 2,000 little wav files with random names like 92jihi4nh.wav

My sample library is really messy. I should get around to cleaning it. I really wish Windows made it so any .wav file you hover over and click, it plays it quickly. I could clean it all in a couple of minutes that way
