Rockas - Awake [Deep, Minimal]

Post by Smiles » Thu Jul 26, 2012 11:36 pm

Result of listening to Burial all day. My first deep tune. It's really simple and maybe too repetitive for some but I kept it short. I would really appreciate some feedback on what i can add and improve on, and how my drums came out. Also first tune I have ever done a 2 step, garage, kinda beat. Thanks! :)

Love those deep pads at the start, nice vibe and a really warm sound. The skittering drum beat is well programmed, if a little on the quiet side. Synth is promising at the start with the low bass rolling in, but wasn't a fan of when it layered and got a bit more airy towards the end of the tune (personal preference though ;) )

Beat programming could do with a switch up to keep it interesting, but overall a nice track :)

Thanks for the feedback wub! Didn't think I would get any haha. I really want to put vocals in my next tune to just have more to it but its hard to find some that i like and make them fit well.
