Neither does the Queen, the miserable tnuc.

EVERYONE IS A TNUC!
Re: London 2012 Olympics Rolling Thread
I despise Paul McCartney.
Re: London 2012 Olympics Rolling Thread
I think it actually improved once all the competing nations were announced but that was such a weak finish by Paul McCartney.
All that Danny Boyle stuff at the beginning was absolute wank. Needed more Begbie and dead babies.

Re: London 2012 Olympics Rolling Thread
thought it was good to be fair
Re: London 2012 Olympics Rolling Thread
I was pleasantly surprised, thought the start was weak but then brunell overlord of industry was introduced and it got dark. Only got better from there. But then I was drinking so maybe the amount I'd drunk corresponded to how good I found it
Re: London 2012 Olympics Rolling Thread
I enjoyed it a lot really.
Re: London 2012 Olympics Rolling Thread
Opening ceremony has been a joke. Turned the tv off. I know China left some big shoes to fill, but c'mon....
Re: London 2012 Olympics Rolling Thread
What did you expect? Huge military parade followed by some computer generated fireworks- at least ours had some kind of storyline and a semblance of humour (and some great music).spire wrote:Opening ceremony has been a joke. Turned the tv off. I know China left some big shoes to fill, but c'mon....
Re: London 2012 Olympics Rolling Thread
Ill start by saying I dont remember what any opening ceremonies were like before China, but there was no "glory" or "majesty" or anything to me, it was all pop culture type references. Im all for supporting ones country, it just seemed so.....almost childish i guess. Was like a long Super Bowl halftime show to me.

its what we do best.spire wrote:childish
the best thing about it was that kids singing was kept to a minimum and there was barely any of that hopes and dreams schtick which is the stock trade of this sort of thing. We dont take ourselves too seriously, basically.
Re: London 2012 Olympics Rolling Thread
Lol. Childish might have been harsh. I guess i was just turned off by the broadway/parade style presentation. Wouldnt have mattered what country. To be honest, the Rowan Atkinson part was the only thing i enjoyed, lol. The nurses/kids dancing...meh. Giant Voldemort....???what???. lol
